POR LUCIMAR ALMEIDA
No último dia 16 de maio, a Prefeitura Municipal de Igaporã, por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Desenvolvimento Social, realizou a tradicional Caminhada do Maio Laranja, uma iniciativa voltada à conscientização da população sobre a importância da prevenção ao abuso e à exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes. O evento contou com a participação de estudantes das Escolas Públicas Municipais (Centro Integrado de Apoio à Criança – Ciac, Escola Municipal Hugo Baltazar da Silveira, Escola Municipal Coronel Olímpio Conegundes das Neves, Centro Educacional Professora Loide Ledo Ponde Fagundes, Núcleo Escolar Manoel Rocha Filho – Fazenda Barreiro e Colégio Municipal de Tamboril), da rede privada de Ensino (Colégio Jardim Império), além de profissionais da Educação, da Saúde (Centro de Atenção Psicossocial), do Desenvolvimento Social (Centro de Referência Especializada em Assistência Social – Creas, Centro de Referência em Assistência Social – Cras), do Grupo de Idosos Viva Bem, membros do Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente, do Conselho Tutelar, de organizações sociais e representantes da comunidade.
Com o tema “Conectados pela Proteção”, a caminhada percorreu as ruas centrais da cidade, exibindo cartazes e faixas alusivas à Campanha. Ao longo do percurso, foram distribuídos materiais informativos e realizadas mensagens de conscientização pelos participantes.
A secretária municipal de Desenvolvimento Social, Ediana Pereira de Oliveira, destacou a relevância do envolvimento de toda a sociedade na luta contra esses crimes. “Nosso objetivo é alertar e sensibilizar a população para que denuncie casos de abuso e exploração, promovendo uma cultura de proteção e cuidado com nossas crianças e adolescentes”, afirmou.
A Prefeitura de Igaporã, ressaltou a secretária, reafirma seu compromisso de promover ações que assegurem os direitos e a segurança dos jovens do município, ressaltando a importância da participação efetiva da sociedade, que deve colaborar com informações e denúncias por meio dos canais de atendimento disponíveis na Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Social ou pelo Disque 100.
Maio Laranja
O Maio Laranja é uma campanha brasileira dedicada ao combate do abuso e da exploração sexual de crianças e adolescentes. Instituída por Lei em 2022, a iniciativa busca ampliar as ações realizadas no dia 18 de maio, data que marca o Dia Nacional de Combate ao Abuso e à Exploração Sexual de Crianças e Adolescentes. A escolha da data remete ao trágico caso de Araceli Cabrera Sánchez Crespo, uma menina de 8 anos que, em 1973, foi sequestrada, violentada e assassinada em Vitória (ES). O crime, até hoje não solucionado, tornou-se símbolo da luta pelos direitos das crianças e adolescentes.
Para fortalecer a proteção, a Lei 15.035/2024, originada de um Projeto da senadora Margareth Buzetti (PSD-MT), criou o Cadastro Nacional de Pedófilos e Predadores Sexuais, ampliando os mecanismos de combate a esses crimes.
