A cantora, atriz e apresentadora Preta Maria Gadelha Gil Moreira, morreu neste domingo, 20 de julho, aos 50 anos, nos Estados Unidos, onde residia nos últimos meses e realizava tratamentos contra a um Câncer Colorretal.
Filha do renomado cantor e compositor Gilberto Gil e da empresária Sandra Gadelha, Preta Gil enfrentava uma batalha contra o Câncer Colorretal desde 2023. Ela deixa um filho, o músico Francisco Gadelha Gil Moreira Müller de Sá, de 30 anos, conhecido como Fran, fruto de seu relacionamento com Otávio Müller, e uma neta, Sol de Maria, de 9 anos.
A luta de Preta Gil contra a doença veio a público em janeiro de 2023, quando ela passou mal em sua residência no Rio de Janeiro e foi levada às pressas ao Hospital. Na ocasião, relatou sintomas como sangramentos, prisão de ventre e desmaios. Exames de imagem revelaram um Adenocarcinoma, um tipo de Câncer Maligno, na porção final do Intestino. O tratamento foi iniciado imediatamente, em 16 de janeiro.
Durante os primeiros meses de Quimioterapia, Preta Gil enfrentou momentos difíceis, incluindo uma internação na UTI em abril devido a uma Sepse, também chamada de Septicemia ou Infecção Generalizada. Ela também teve Pneumonia e Pancreatite, episódios relatados por ela mesma em seu perfil no Instagram. Em uma mensagem otimista, afirmou: “Passei por momentos delicados, mas graças a Deus, aos meus Orixás, às minhas santas, aos médicos que formaram uma equipe impecável, estou aqui agora, bem, gravando esse vídeo para vocês, recuperada.”
No meio do tratamento, em maio de 2023, Preta Gil se separou do marido, o Personal Trainer Rodrigo Godoy. Ela revelou que descobriu uma traição do então parceiro e decidiu pelo divórcio enquanto ainda estava na UTI, acusando-o de negligência durante sua batalha contra o Câncer. Em entrevista ao programa “Angelica 50 & Tanto” do Globoplay, ela contou que tomou a decisão de se separar ao perceber que não merecia ser tratada daquela forma.
Em agosto de 2023, após sessões de Quimioterapia e Radioterapia, Preta Gil passou por uma cirurgia de 14 horas no Hospital Sírio-Libanês, em São Paulo, para remover o tumor, além de partes do Útero, Ovários e Apêndice. O procedimento foi bem-sucedido e ela anunciou que seu corpo estava “livre de Células Cancerígenas”. Em dezembro, passou por uma nova cirurgia para reconstrução do Trato Intestinal e reversão da Ileostomia [ abertura na parede abdominal, chamada Estoma, criada através de cirurgia, para desviar o trajeto do Intestino Delgado quando as fezes e os gases não podem passar pelo Intestino Grosso, sendo então eliminados na Bolsa de Ileostomia], celebrando a conclusão do tratamento inicial, embora ciente de que o acompanhamento médico de cinco anos fosse necessário.
No entanto, em agosto de 2024, Preta Gil revelou que o Câncer havia retornado, desta vez em quatro locais diferentes: dois Linfonodos, uma Metástase no Peritônio e um Nódulo no Ureter. Ela compartilhou a notícia em um vídeo nas redes sociais, expressando o susto, mas permanecendo confiante no tratamento, que envolveu nova rodada de Quimioterapia.
Em dezembro do mesmo ano, ela passou por nova cirurgia para remover os tumores recidivantes, um procedimento delicado que a levou ao coma induzido por três dias. Como consequência, passou a usar uma Bolsa de Colostomia de forma definitiva. Em fevereiro de 2025, recebeu alta hospitalar para continuar o tratamento em casa, mantendo uma postura de gratidão e esperança, como demonstrado em suas redes sociais.
Em março de 2025, Preta Gil realizou um sonho ao dar um mergulho no mar de Salvador, com autorização médica para realizar o desejo com os devidos cuidados. No fim daquele mês, durante participação no programa “Domingão com Huck”, anunciou que buscaria tratamento no exterior, especialmente nos Estados Unidos, onde há estudos e medicamentos ainda indisponíveis no Brasil. Ela afirmou que suas chances de cura estavam fora e que iria viajar com esperança de retornar curada.
Porém, ela não chegou a sair do país. Em 6 de abril, postou uma foto a bordo de uma aeronave equipada com UTI Aérea, em tratamento no Rio de Janeiro, mas foi transferida para São Paulo, onde passou por mais cuidados no Hospital Sírio-Libanês. Em 16 de abril, recebeu alta.
Em maio de 2025, Preta Gil voltou a ser internada menos de um mês após sua última alta, com planos de viajar novamente aos Estados Unidos em busca de novas opções de tratamento. Ela recebeu alta dois dias depois, em 7 de maio, mantendo a esperança de superar a doença.
A notícia de sua morte marca o encerramento de uma batalha marcada por coragem, resiliência e esperança. Preta Gil deixa um legado de força e inspiração, além de um exemplo de enfrentamento diante de uma doença tão desafiadora.
