Pesquisa Industrial Mensal mostra que houve variação nula em dezembro. Setor está abaixo do patamar pré-pandemia
A produção industrial se manteve estável em dezembro de 2022, segundo a Pesquisa Industrial Mensal (PIM). Os dados divulgados pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) mostram que a indústria brasileira registrou variação nula no último mês do ano passado, após o índice de produção ter caído de 0,3%, em outubro, para -0,1% em novembro.
De acordo com a pesquisa, o setor está 2,2% abaixo do patamar de fevereiro de 2020, período pré-pandemia da Covid-19 e 18,5% abaixo do recorde da série histórica. No acumulado, a queda foi de 0,7% em 2022, um grande contraste com o ano anterior, que registrou alta de 3,9%. O gerente da PIM, André Macedo, explica que o ano passado começou bem para o setor, mas terminou com saldo negativo.
“Embora a produção industrial tenha mostrado alguma melhora no início do ano de 2022, uma vez que marcou resultados positivos por quatro meses em sequência, nos últimos meses o total da indústria marca um comportamento de predominância negativa, já que nos últimos sete meses, em quatro oportunidades, observa-se queda na produção. Permanecendo, dessa forma, longe de recuperar as perdas do passado recente”, afirma.
A queda atingiu os setores de indústrias extrativas (-3,2%); produtos de metal (-9%); metalurgia (-5%); máquinas, aparelhos e materiais elétricos (-10,7%); e produtos de borracha e de material plástico (-5,7%). No segmento de produtos derivados do petróleo e biocombustíveis houve alta de 6,6%.
Ainda segundo o IBGE, no primeiro semestre do ano passado a indústria respondeu às medidas adotadas pelo governo, como a antecipação do 13º para aposentados e pensionistas, liberação do Fundo de Garantia por Tempo de Serviço (FGTS), estímulos ao crédito, Auxílio Brasil e outros. Entretanto, ao longo do segundo semestre, a resposta do setor diminuiu e os resultados caíram.
Entre os principais problemas enfrentados destacam-se as taxas de juros elevadas e a inflação, que registrou alta de 5,79% em 2022, segundo o Índice Nacional de Preços ao Consumidor Amplo (IPCA). Além disso, o aumento das taxas de inadimplência e de endividamento também contribuíram para o resultado negativo. Para o conselheiro do Conselho Regional de Economia de São Paulo (Corecon-SP), Carlos Eduardo Oliveira, a indústria brasileira precisa voltar a crescer. O economista prevê uma melhoria da economia do país em todos os segmentos em 2023.
“A perspectiva para 2023 é de melhoria da nossa economia, de todos os segmentos. Seja ele agrícola, porque, esse ano, a princípio até por causa das chuvas não vai ter problema de entressafra. Todo o setor de serviço continua a se valorizar muito, o setor de comércio também e o setor de indústria está se reorganizando e tende a melhorias contínuas”, afirma.
A indústria responde por 23,6% do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) e emprega cerca de 10,3 milhões de trabalhadores, além de pagar os melhores salários. O setor também é responsável por 71,8% das exportações brasileiras de bens e serviços e por 34,4% da arrecadação de tributos federais, com exceção de receitas previdenciárias.
