A World Steel Association (Worldsteel) divulgou que a produção mundial de aço bruto alcançou 144,4 milhões de toneladas em setembro de 2021, uma queda de 8,9% em relação ao mesmo mês do último ano. A Ásia e a Oceania produziram 101,9 milhões de toneladas em setembro, em recuo de 14,6% sobre setembro de 2020.
Apenas a China produziu 73,8 milhões de toneladas, 21,2% a menos que em setembro do ano passado, enquanto a Índia produziu 9,5 milhões de toneladas no mês, um incremento de 7,2% sobre o mesmo mês do último ano. Japão e Coreia do Sul produziram 8,1 milhões de toneladas e 5,5 milhões de toneladas de aço bruto em setembro, respectivamente, com alta de 25,6% e recuo de 5% na comparação com o mesmo mês de 2020.
Os países do Bloco Europeu produziram 12,7 milhões de toneladas de aço em setembro de 2021, ou 15,6% a mais que no mesmo mês de 2020. O destaque fica para a Alemanha, com produção de 3,3 milhões de toneladas e aumento de 10,7% sobre setembro de 2020.
Países europeus, como Bósnia-Herzegovina, Macedônia, Noruega, Sérvia, Turquia e Reino Unido, produziram 4,2 milhões de toneladas, um crescimento de 4,3% sobre setembro de 2020. A Turquia produziu 3,3 milhões de toneladas, 2,4% a mais que em setembro do ano passado.
A África – Egito, Líbia e África do Sul – produziu 1,4 milhão de toneladas de aço bruto em agosto, 51% superior na comparação com setembro do último ano. Já os países da CIS produziram 8,2 milhões de toneladas, 1% menos que no mesmo mês de 2020, com destaque para a Rússia, que teve um volume de produção estimado de 5,9 milhões de toneladas, o que representa decréscimo de 2,2% sobre setembro de 2020.
Os países do Oriente Médio – Irã, Catar, Arábia Saudita, Emirados Árabes Unidos – registraram produção de 2,2 milhões de toneladas de aço bruto, 35,7% a menos que em setembro de 2020. Estima-se que o Irã tenha produzido 1,3 milhão de toneladas no mês, uma queda de 51,4% no mês.
A produção na América do Norte cresceu 19,2% em setembro de 2021, somando 9,8 milhões de toneladas. Apenas os Estados Unidos produziram 7,3 milhões de toneladas, 22% a mais que em setembro de 2020, enquanto a produção na América do Sul alcançou 3,9 milhões de toneladas, 17% a mais do que em setembro de 2020.
O Brasil produziu 3,1 milhões de toneladas e registrou crescimento de 15,3% em setembro de 2021 na comparação com o mesmo mês do ano passado. No acumulado do ano até setembro, a produção mundial de aço bruto somou 1.461 bilhão de toneladas, o que representa um acréscimo de 7,8% em relação ao mesmo período de 2020.
