A literatura baiana possui uma riqueza singular, com autores que contribuem significativamente para a cultura do estado. Com o objetivo de estudar, divulgar e fomentar essa expressão cultural, nasceu o projeto de extensão “Papo Lírico” na Uesb, no campus de Jequié.
Desde 2002, o projeto desenvolve ações contínuas para aproximar a comunidade dos escritores baianos, especialmente os contemporâneos que possuem relação com a microrregião de Jequié. A iniciativa surgiu a partir de uma conferência com o escritor Ruy Espinheira Filho e, desde então, consolidou-se como um espaço permanente de valorização da literatura local.
O “Papo Lírico” tem um compromisso ativo com a democratização do acesso à produção textual, realizando atividades em escolas públicas da Educação Básica, promovendo oficinas para apenados do Conjunto Penal de Jequié e levando rodas de conversa para o Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (Cras) e praças públicas. Além disso, mantém parceria com o Centro Juvenil de Ciência e Cultura, realizando palestras, minicursos e lançamentos de livros com escritores da região.
O projeto conta com um portfólio diversificado de ações, como as oficinas de contos “Contar para viver, viver para contar”; as atividades on-line “Papo Live” e “Live Lírica”; o “Rotas Líricas”, que alia literatura e visitação a espaços representados na poesia; o “Papo Vestibular”, voltado para as leituras indicadas no Vestibular Uesb; o “Papo de Livro”, clube de leitura focado na literatura baiana; e “Língua Solta”, “Entre Celas” e “Varal Eletrônico”, iniciativas em fase de reformulação.
Ao longo dos anos, o “Papo Lírico” tem expandido suas atividades para diversas cidades da microrregião de Jequié. Em 2024, o projeto esteve presente em municípios como Aiquara, Apuarema, Itagibá e Jitaúna, além de disponibilizar conteúdo on-line para ampliar seu alcance. A realização das ações conta com o apoio da Uesb, por meio da concessão de bolsas e recursos institucionais, e envolve colaboradores dos cursos de Letras e Pedagogia.
