A Associação dos Pequenos Produtores Irrigantes do Projeto Estreito (Appipe), no município de Urandi, é um dos muitos exemplos do potencial transformador da agricultura familiar no rural baiano. Por meio de esforço coletivo, organização e trabalho contínuo, a Associação vem colhendo os frutos do Projeto de Implantação de Quintais Produtivos, que garantiu segurança alimentar e nutricional para 36 famílias e abriu novas oportunidades de geração de renda e desenvolvimento local.
A iniciativa é uma realização do Governo da Bahia, executada pela Companhia de Desenvolvimento e Ação Regional (CAR), empresa pública vinculada à Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Rural (SDR). O Projeto contou com a entrega de insumos, sementes e estruturas produtivas, como galinheiros, que proporcionaram diversificação das atividades e aumento da produção das famílias agricultoras atendidas.
Entre os resultados já alcançados, está a entrega de produtos, como verduras, frutas e legumes, por meio do Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos (PAA). Parte da produção também é vendida diretamente ao público durante na Feira da Agricultura, realizada no Povoado Núcleo I, na zona rural de Urandi.
“O investimento realizado trouxe resultados muito positivos. Promoveu o desenvolvimento econômico e sustentável, aumentou a renda das famílias, melhorou a qualidade de vida e motivou ainda mais o trabalho no campo. Hoje, produzimos frutas, legumes, verduras e hortaliças, e entregarmos para o PNAE- Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar. A Conab – Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento já solicitou a documentação para iniciarmos novas entregas ao PAA. Estamos muito satisfeitos com os resultados”, destaca Maria Aparecida de Souza Rodrigues, presidente da Appipe.
Agregação de valor e empreendedorismo
Com o fortalecimento da produção nos Quintais, a Associação avançou mais um passo. Agora, transformam os produtos colhidos em alimentos processados, gerando ainda mais valor e renda. Em uma cozinha construída com recursos próprios, as famílias passaram a produzir bolos de cenoura, aipim e chocolate, pães, pão de queijo, biscoitos (como o tradicional chiringa), bolacha de nata, chimango e pudins, ampliando o portfólio de produtos da agricultura familiar local.
Fortalecimento da gestão e acesso a novos mercados
Como parte da estratégia de crescimento e consolidação da Associação, a Appipe foi selecionada em Edital da CAR para contar com o suporte de uma Agente de Negócios, que já está atuando na qualificação da gestão e na expansão do acesso a mercados institucionais e comerciais, contribuindo para o fortalecimento do empreendimento.
A experiência da Appipe comprova que o investimento em infraestrutura produtiva, assistência técnica e organização comunitária é capaz de transformar realidades, impulsionar a economia local e garantir mais dignidade para quem vive e produz no campo.
