A Polícia Militar da Bahia, por meio do Comando de Policiamento da Região Sudoeste, registrou uma redução de 14,6% nos Crimes Violentos Letais Intencionais (CVLI) durante o primeiro semestre de 2025, em comparação com o mesmo período do ano anterior. Os dados, divulgados no Diário Oficial do Estado, posicionam a região como a mais segura da Bahia, com o menor índice de Crimes Violentos Letais Intencionais por 100 mil habitantes.
Para o Comandante do Comando de Policiamento da Região Sudoeste, Coronel PM Paulo Henrique Rocha Guimarães, os dados demonstram o impacto positivo da estratégia operacional da Polícia Militar e da dedicação da tropa no cumprimento das metas de Segurança. “Essa conquista é fruto do empenho da tropa e de uma política de Segurança Integrada, que tem garantido maior tranquilidade à população”, afirmou.
Além da queda nos índices de criminalidade, o Governo do Estado, através da Secretaria de Estado da Segurança Pública da Bahia, por meio da Polícia Militar, promoveu o desmembramento de Unidades do Comando de Policiamento da Região Sudoeste e criou novos Comandos Regionais, entre eles o Comando do Médio Rio de Contas, com sede em Jequié. A iniciativa visa aprimorar a gestão operacional e ampliar a capacidade de resposta da corporação em todo o Estado.
Outra novidade é a incorporação oficial do Esquadrão de Motociclistas Falcão – Unidade Especializada em Policiamento Ostensivo sobre Duas Rodas – ao Comando de Policiamento da Região Sudoeste, reforçando a atuação especializada em áreas estratégicas.
Conforme a Assessoria de Comunicação Social do Comando de Policiamento da Região Sudoeste, o detalhamento das Unidades que permanecerão na estrutura atual e das que passarão a integrar os novos Comandos será divulgado em breve.
