O consumidor já deverá notar mudanças nas embalagens de produtos alimentícios a partir deste domingo (9). Isso porque passaram a valer as novas normas da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa), para informação nutricional nos rótulos das embalagens desses produtos. Além de mudanças na tabela nutricional, já conhecida pelo consumidor – que fica na parte de trás das embalagens, os alimentos com excesso de sódio, gordura e açúcar deverão ganhar um selo frontal, indicando o alto índice.
As alterações atendem ao que a Organização Mundial de Saúde (OMS) e outras organizações voltadas à saúde e segurança alimentar defendem há anos, como medida para combater doenças crônicas como diabetes, obesidade e hipertensão, causadas pelo excesso desses produtos.
A nutricionista Talyta Machado, afirma que as mudanças são importantes, especialmente porque, antes da nova norma, muitos fabricantes camuflavam informações utilizando outros nomes, não conhecidos pelo consumidor, para indicar a presença desses ingredientes nocivos à saúde. “Às vezes ele coloca lá na lista de ingredientes nomes em que não está escrito ‘açúcar’. Nome de maltodextrina, algum outro nome. O consumidor não tem esse conhecimento e acaba comprando, achando que está levando um alimento zero açúcar, ou com pouco açúcar”, explica.
Com a nova regra, os alimentos embalados com excesso de açúcar, sódio (sal) ou gordura, deverão conter o seguinte selo:
Ainda de acordo com Talyta Machado, a mudança traz mais segurança ao consumidor, porém, também, mais responsabilidade. “Agora o cliente tem uma questão de responsabilidade pela sua saúde, pela sua alimentação, porque ele tem essa informação muito clara”, afirma a nutricionista.
Para Margarida Maria Pinheiro, de 65 anos, a nova mudança é essencial, por ser de fácil compreensão de todos e, sobretudo, pelo alto consumo dos produtos industrializados. “É muito importante que saia nos rótulos, porque hoje a maioria da população sabe ler e escrever. Hoje você compra mais comidas congeladas, industrializadas e ter no rótulo para que a gente possa saber o que contém naquele produto é muito importante”, afirma a aposentada, que é hipertensa e pré-diabética.
Outras mudanças
Não é só a parte frontal dos rótulos que teve mudança, pelas novas regras da Anvisa, mas também a tabela nutricional – aquela que indica calorias, carboidratos e outras informações nutritivas do alimento. Agora, a tabela que antes tinha duas colunas, ganha uma terceira, que deve indicar o valor nutricional do alimento segundo porção de 100 ml (no caso dos líquidos) ou 100 g (para alimentos sólidos). Antes a referência era apenas com base em uma dieta diária de 2 mil calorias.
“Claro que é importante a pessoa também se atentar, por exemplo, que quando a gente pensa em bebida, 100ml é bem pouquinho. Então é importante ter essa consciência de que você está comendo uma quantidade ‘X’, alerta a nutricionista Talyta Machado.
