O governo russo anunciou esta semana que desenvolveu uma vacina contra o câncer. A previsão é que o imunizante comece a ser distribuído para pacientes de forma gratuita a partir do início de 2025.
De acordo com a agência russa de notícias, a vacina foi desenvolvida em colaboração com diversos centros de pesquisa. Ensaio pré-clínicos demonstraram que a dose suprime o desenvolvimento de tumores e de potenciais metástases.
O Centro Nacional de Pesquisa Médica do Ministério da Saúde russo informou que trabalha com duas linhas de vacinas oncológicas. Uma delas é uma vacina personalizada que utiliza tecnologia mRNA, a mesma utilizada em doses contra a covid-19.
“Com base na análise genética do tumor de cada paciente, uma vacina única é criada para ‘ensinar’ o sistema imunológico a reconhecer células cancerígenas”, detalhou o centro de pesquisa russo.
O segundo imunizante é a Enteromix, formulada com base numa combinação de quatro vírus não-patogênicos que têm a habilidade de destruir células malignas e, simultaneamente, ativar a imunidade de pacientes contra um tumor.
