A Secretaria de Estado da Saúde da Bahia (Sesab) negou a existência de um surto de HIV/Aids entre adolescentes de 14 a 19 anos, após a circulação de informações equivocadas em redes sociais e veículos de comunicação. Segundo os boatos, cerca de 11 mil casos teriam sido registrados recentemente nessa faixa etária – número que não condiz com os dados oficiais.
De acordo com a Secretaria de Estado da Saúde da Bahia, até o início de agosto de 2025, foram notificados 93 casos de HIV/Aids entre jovens de 14 a 19 anos. Em anos anteriores, os registros foram de 184 casos em 2024, 158 em 2023 e 137 em 2022, evidenciando estabilidade nos índices e refutando qualquer indicativo de surto.
No total, entre janeiro de 2023 e 2 de agosto de 2025, a Bahia contabilizou 11.187 diagnósticos de HIV/Aids em todas as faixas etárias. Desse montante:
- 72% (8.005) foram em pessoas do sexo masculino
- 28% (3.164) em pessoas do sexo feminino
- 18 casos tiveram o gênero ignorado
A distribuição por idade mostra que os adolescentes representam uma pequena parcela dos casos:

Diante da repercussão, a Secretaria de Estado da Saúde da Bahia reforçou que tem intensificado ações de Educação em Saúde, prevenção combinada e ampliação do acesso ao diagnóstico, com foco especial no público jovem. A pasta também recomenda o fortalecimento da integração entre Atenção Básica, Serviços Especializados e Redes de Apoio Social, visando garantir acompanhamento qualificado e reduzir barreiras à prevenção e ao tratamento.
