O Comitê de Política Monetária (Copom) do Banco Central se reúne nos dias 29 e 30 de julho para decidir sobre a taxa básica de juros da economia brasileira. A expectativa do mercado é de que a Selic seja mantida em 15% ao ano, um patamar elevado que, na avaliação do SIMPI (Sindicato da Micro e Pequena Indústria), compromete diretamente o acesso ao crédito, o consumo e a geração de empregos no país.
“Manter os juros nesse nível, mesmo diante de sinais claros de desaceleração do consumo, representa uma política punitiva para os pequenos negócios. A Selic elevada inibe a atividade econômica, restringe o financiamento produtivo e limita a capacidade de investimento das micro e pequenas empresas”, afirma Joseph Couri, presidente nacional do SIMPI.
Embora a Selic seja uma taxa de referência, os pequenos empreendedores enfrentam juros ainda mais altos na prática, o que torna o crédito praticamente inacessível para boa parte do setor. Com menos acesso a capital de giro, investimentos e renegociação de dívidas, muitos negócios operam no limite da sobrevivência.
Na avaliação do SIMPI, a continuidade dessa política monetária compromete a retomada da economia real. “As micro e pequenas empresas são responsáveis por boa parte da geração de empregos formais no país. Sem crédito e sem estímulo à demanda, o setor fica travado, com reflexos negativos na produção, na renda e na atividade econômica local”, completa Couri.
A decisão final do Copom será anunciada na próxima quarta-feira (31). Até lá, o setor produtivo segue apreensivo quanto aos rumos da política monetária e seus efeitos sobre os pequenos empreendimentos, que representam a base da economia nacional.
