Inserido no Novo Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC) do Governo Federal, a expansão do 5G já chegou a mais de 800 municípios de Norte a Sul do País. O Novo PAC tem investimentos para a implantação do 5G em todas as 5,5 mil cidades do Brasil.
“O presidente Lula quer a inclusão digital de todos os brasileiros, com a melhor tecnologia, para sermos competitivos em diversas áreas. O eixo de inclusão e conectividade do Novo PAC é essencial para esse Brasil mais inclusivo e conectado”, disse o ministro das Comunicações, Juscelino Filho.
O 5G está presente em 342 municípios no Sudeste, em 222 no Sul, em 123 no Nordeste, em 71 no Centro-Oeste e em 54 no Norte. Ao todo são 812 cidades que contam com a tecnologia. São Paulo (165), Minas Gerais (109) e Paraná (99) são os estados que lideram a expansão da tecnologia.
Os 812 municípios ainda precisam ter a cobertura atestada pela Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel) nos requerimentos de qualidade exigidos pelo Edital 5G, mas eles já apresentam o serviço disponível, ainda que em cobertura reduzida.
O eixo de inclusão digital do Novo PAC, coordenado pelo Ministério das Comunicações, levará à população mais internet de alta velocidade, conectividade às escolas públicas de educação básica e beneficiará populações que demandam melhor acesso à internet.
Além da expansão do 4G e implantação do 5G, fazem parte do eixo de inclusão digital do Novo PAC os programas: Escolas Conectadas (conexão de internet de qualidade nos quase 140 mil estabelecimentos da educação básica do país), Norte Conectado (que leva internet às áreas mais remotas do Brasil, no Norte, via cabos de fibra ótica subaquáticos), Brasil Digital (expansão da transmissão de canais digitais) e a construção de centros de serviços postais (Correios) em locais estratégicos do País.
