A solidão pode ser mais do que um estado emocional negativo; ela pode representar uma ameaça real à saúde cardiovascular.
Um estudo recente, realizado por pesquisadores da Universidade de Cambridge, no Reino Unido, em colaboração com cientistas chineses, revela que pessoas socialmente isoladas enfrentam riscos elevados de infarto, diabetes tipo 2 e outras complicações de saúde.
A pesquisa foi publicada na renomada revista científica Nature Human Behaviour.
O estudo
O estudo analisou cerca de 42 mil britânicos e revelou que o isolamento social está relacionado ao aumento de proteínas no sangue, como a ADM e ASGR1, que afetam a saúde cardiovascular e aumentam o risco de doenças graves, como diabetes tipo 2.
A ADM, ligada ao estresse e à oxitocina, foi associada a alterações no cérebro e risco de morte precoce. A ASGR1 está relacionada ao aumento do colesterol e doenças cardíacas, destacando a importância das interações sociais para a saúde física e mental.
Saúde mental e saúde do coração
Apesar de o cérebro ser o órgão responsável pela “produção” das emoções, o coração é um dos que mais sofre os seus impactos, por isso,problemas mentais e emocionais podem ter um efeito mais intenso na saúde cardíaca.
De acordo com o Médico Cardiologista, Dr. Roberto Yano, a saúde mental está intimamente ligada à saúde física.
“A saúde mental está diretamente ligada à saúde do coração, não apenas em relação à solidão, como indicado neste estudo, mas também a outras questões mentais, como ansiedade, depressão e, especialmente, o estresse crônico”
