O trabalho remoto adotado na Administração Pública Federal, durante a crise sanitária da Covid-19, trouxe uma economia de R$ 1,419 bilhão aos cofres públicos, entre março de 2020 e junho de 2021.
De acordo com levantamento do Ministério da Economia, as maiores reduções de custos foram registradas na compra de passagens e despesas com locomoção de pessoal (R$ 512,6 milhões), diárias (R$ 450,2 milhões) e serviços de energia elétrica (R$ 392,9 milhões).
Cerca de 190 mil servidores estão trabalhando, atualmente, de forma remota. O número representa aproximadamente 32% do total de servidores ativos do Governo Federal.
No segundo semestre de 2020, o Ministério da Economia criou o Programa de Gestão e, segundo a pasta, houve aumento na produtividade e qualidade das entregas, além de reduzir as despesas como água, esgoto e energia elétrica.
