O vice-prefeito eleito em 2024, Tito Eugênio Cardoso de Castro (Podemos), assumiu nesta sexta-feira (17) o comando da Prefeitura Municipal DE Riacho de Santana, após o afastamento do prefeito João Vítor Martins Laranjeira (PSD), determinado pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal. A decisão ocorre no contexto da sétima fase da Operação Overclan, conduzida pela Polícia Federal.
Com uma trajetória marcada por cinco mandatos à frente do Executivo Municipal – 1989/1992, 1997/2004, 2009/2012, 2013/2016 e 2020/2024 (renunciado em abril) – Tito Eugênio retorna ao cargo com ampla bagagem política e administrativa. A posse foi realizada em cerimônia discreta, sem pronunciamentos públicos e o novo chefe do Executivo Municipal não fez nenhum comentário público sobre as investigações que envolvem o prefeito afastado.
Fontes do JS ligadas ao Paço Municipal informaram que as primeiras medidas adotadas por Tito Eugênio visam manter a continuidade dos projetos e ações em andamento, tendo apenas reforçado o foco na eficiência e transparência da gestão. A expectativa é de que o novo chefe do Executivo reforce o compromisso com a estabilidade administrativa, enquanto o processo judicial segue seu curso.
