O documentário Axé: Canto do Povo de um Lugar retrata a trajetória da música do Carnaval de Salvador, desde as origens até os dias atuais. Dirigida por Chico Kertész e roteirizada por Chico Kertész e James Martins, a obra faz uma viagem pela história do Axé Music, um dos movimentos musicais mais globalizados do mundo. A exibição acontece na TVE, nesta quinta-feira (6), às 20h, com horário alternativo na segunda-feira (17), também às 20h, e é parte da programação especial da emissora em homenagem aos 40 anos do Axé Music.
Com imagens históricas e depoimentos de especialistas e diversas personalidades que marcaram essa trajetória, o filme revisita momentos marcantes da música baiana, desde a invenção do trio elétrico por Dodô e Osmar nos anos 1950 até a estreia do Axé Music nas avenidas de Salvador em 1985. O filme desvenda a origem desse gênero musical e percorre décadas de transformações que levaram o ritmo a conquistar o mundo.
No elenco, estão Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury, Vovô do Ilê Ayê, Netinho, Beto Jamaica, Luiz Caldas, entre outros. A produção mostra também a história do grupo Olodum, a importância dos blocos afros, além da contribuição de Carlinhos Brown e do grupo É o Tchan, e traz ainda imagens de locais emblemáticos que marcaram a história do Axé Music.
