Comunidades de todo o país sofrem com ausência de serviços públicos básicos; maior parte dos Territórios ficam no Nordeste

No Brasil existem 6023 Territórios Quilombolas. Estas Comunidades têm, em comum, o fato de terem sido fundadas por pessoas que foram escravizadas ou por seus descendentes. Deste total, 3186 ficam no Nordeste, o que corresponde a 52% das Comunidades.
A Constituição Federal de 1988 determina que os habitantes de remanescentes de Quilombos devem ter a propriedade de suas terras garantida por meio de titulação. No entanto, de acordo com entrevistas e análises realizadas pela Agência Tatu (https://www.agenciatatu.com.br), nos últimos 35 anos apenas uma pequena parte dos Territórios Quilombolas identificados foram plenamente titulados.
O que dizem os dados sobre Territórios Quilombolas:
• De acordo com estatísticas experimentais do IBGE (Dimensionamento emergencial de população residente em áreas indígenas e quilombolas para ações de enfrentamento à pandemia provocada pelo coronavírus) as Comunidades Quilombolas possuem 1,1 milhão de residentes distribuídos em 6023 Comunidades em todo o Território Nacional, com exceção do Acre e de Roraima, que não possuem Territórios Quilombolas identificados.
• A maior parte das áreas Quilombolas ficam na região Nordeste, 53%. Em seguida vem a região Sudeste, com 23% das Comunidades; Norte com 15%; Sul com 5% e Centro-oeste com 4%.
• Apenas 8% das Comunidades Quilombolas foram oficialmente delimitadas. Sendo que o IBGE classifica 54% das demais Comunidades como localidades identificadas por registros administrativos e 38% apenas como Agrupamentos Quilombolas.
• Há ainda um deserto de dados oficiais a respeito de Comunidades Quilombolas. Não é possível identificar, por exemplo, a renda média dos moradores dessas Comunidades ou as condições de trabalho e saneamento. A expectativa é que os resultados do próximo Censo tragam mais dados estatísticos sobre essas Comunidades Tradicionais.
