O vereador Ivan Cordeiro (PL) apresentou à Câmara de Vereadores Projeto de Lei que cria a Semana Municipal do Livro em Vitória da Conquista. A matéria foi lida na sessão da última quarta-feira (27) e agora entra fase de espera de emendas para, posteriormente, ser encaminhado às Comissões Temáticas da Casa.
Segundo a proposta, a Semana do Livro será realizada anualmente na última semana do mês de setembro, com o objetivo de promover a leitura, a formação de leitores, o acesso ao livro como instrumento de desenvolvimento intelectual, cultural e social, e a valorização de escritores locais.
A Semana do Livro terá como atividades principais a realização do Salão do Livro, com participação de editoras, livrarias e autores locais; promoção de palestras, debates e oficinas sobre a importância da leitura, com ênfase na divulgação de obras de escritores locais.
O Projeto prevê, ainda, distribuição gratuita de livros em espaços públicos, priorizando obras de autores regionais, realização de Saraus Literários e Contações de Histórias para crianças e adolescentes, sempre com foco em obras de escritores locais, além Campanhas de Incentivo à Leitura em Escolas e Bibliotecas.
