Estudantes e professores do curso de Medicina Veterinária do Centro Universitário UniFTC Vitória da Conquista realizam, a partir desta quarta, dia 22, atendimentos gratuitos para identificação de Leishmaniose em cães domésticos ou em situação de rua. Através do projeto “Leishmaniose, aqui não!”, os estudantes farão a detecção e monitoramento dos casos suspeitos ou positivos da doença.
Os atendimentos serão realizados na Clínica-escola de Medicina Veterinária da UniFTC Vitória da Conquista, até o dia 03 de novembro, sempre às segundas e quartas-feiras, de 9h às 16h. Mais informações pelo número (77) 3025-4680.
A leishmaniose é uma doença infecciosa que afeta principalmente cachorros, mas que pode ser transmitida para os humanos através da picada do mosquito-palha. Manifesta-se em seres humanos se o inseto picar um cachorro doente antes de picar a pessoa. Alguns sintomas caninos: crescimento exagerado das unhas, perda de pelo, descamação da pele, emagrecimento, anemia, dentre outros. No entanto, o cão pode ser portador da doença sem manifestar sintomas.
