No silêncio acolhedor de uma manhã que misturava o antigo e o novo, José se via diante de uma tela que mais parecia uma janela para o seu passado. Recém-promovido CEO da maior corporação brasileira do agronegócio, ele não conseguia escapar do perfume envolvente de café e bolo de fubá – uma experiência sensorial que, assim como a madeleine de Marcel Proust, o fazia viajar de volta às lembranças da infância, àquelas tardes morenas onde dona Tereza, a copeira, preparava com tanto carinho os aromas que agora se tornavam tão inevitavelmente humanos.
Na simplicidade de um gesto tecnológico, o aroma digital despertava memórias que eram, ao mesmo tempo, doces e amargas. Lembrava-se dos dias de fome e medo, mas também da dor transformada em força, de um sofrimento que, mesmo duro, moldara o homem que ele se tornara. Seus irmãos, trabalhando nos vastos campos de soja e milho, eram parte inevitável dessa história: como peças de um quebra-cabeça invisível, eles traziam à tona questões profundas, como se fossem instrumentos da vontade Divina, responsáveis tanto pelo seu triunfo quanto pelas cicatrizes da alma.
Enquanto observava essas imagens em holograma, a sensação de estar entre dois mundos – o futurístico e o ancestral – tomava conta de José. Era como se, num mesmo instante, o cheiro do bolo e o calor de um abraço perdido se misturassem aos brilhos artificiais e aos comandos digitais. E nesse turbilhão de sentimentos, ele se via lutando contra seus próprios conflitos internos. Cada lembrança do pai Jacó, da mãe Raquel, e a saudade apertada das risadas simples do passado, lembrava-o de que a vida sempre foi feita de luz e sombra.
Com o coração apertado e a mente repleta de dilemas, José entendia que o sofrimento o havia levado até ali – àquele cargo que tanto prezava, mas que também vinha carregado dos ecos de um tempo em que as emoções eram mais genuínas, menos calculadas. E então, num ato de coragem e de desejo de resgatar o que parecia estar se perdendo, ele ordenou, com a voz trêmula, mas decidida: “Chamar os irmãos!”
Naquele comando, mais que um simples ato empresarial, havia um pedido de reencontro com um passado que, mesmo marcado pela dor, era essencial para se reconhecer e compreender. E, entre o som das máquinas e as pulsações de um coração que insistia em lembrar, José percebeu que, apesar de toda a tecnologia e dos dias modernos, era o calor humano – o cheiro do café, o sabor do bolo, o abraço dos entes queridos – que realmente fazia a vida valer a pena.
