Advogada de Aracatu é nomeada Desembargadora Titular do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral da Bahia

A advogada Carina Cristiane Canguçu Virgens, natural de Aracatu, foi nomeada pelo presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), para ocupar a vaga de Desembargadora Titular do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral da Bahia (TRE-BA), destinada à classe da Advocacia.

A escolha ocorreu após articulação do senador e ex-governador da Bahia Jaques Wagner (PT). O cargo estava vago há mais de um ano, desde o término do mandato do advogado Vicente Buratto, e foi alvo de disputa política entre OS ex-governadores Jaques Wagner (atual senador da República) e Rui Costa dos Santos (atual ministro de Estado Chefe da Casa Civil da Presidência da República).

Nos bastidores, a demora na definição foi atribuída à resistência do ex-governador Rui Costa em apoiar o nome da advogada aracatuense Carina Canguçu. O hoje ministro de Estado defendia a indicação do advogado Rafael Sá Santana, considerado seu candidato preferido e próximo do Desembargador José Edvaldo Rocha Rotondano, presidente do Tribunal de Justiça da Bahia.

Carina Cristiane Canguçu Virgens  já havia atuado como Desembargadora Substituta do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral da Bahia em dois mandatos, entre 2019 e 2024. A lista tríplice para a vaga destinada à advocacia foi formada pelo Tribunal de Justiça da Bahia em novembro de 2023, culminando agora na nomeação oficial da advogada para o posto titular.
