A Bahia alcança, a partir de hoje, a cobertura total do Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu) em todas as suas regiões de Saúde. Em cerimônia realizada em Brasília nesta quinta-feira (27), a secretária estadual da saúde, Roberta Santana, recebeu 35 novas ambulâncias do Ministério da Saúde, como parte do processo de ampliação, expansão e renovação da frota no estado.
O reforço nos Serviços de Emergência contempla municípios como Salvador, Feira de Santana, Muniz Ferreira, Nilo Peçanha, Itaberaba, Lençóis, Mucugê, Piatã, Seabra, Érico Cardoso, Vereda, Guanambi, Elísio Medrado, Abaíra, Andaraí e Iaçu. Só a capital baiana, que celebra 476 anos no próximo sábado, foi contemplada com 17 novas unidades, em uma entrega que simboliza, segundo a secretária, “um presente do presidente Lula e do ministro da Saúde, Padilha, para o povo baiano”.

“Com essas novas unidades, completamos a universalização da cobertura regional do Samu. Agora a Chapada Diamantina, por exemplo, que era a última região sem cobertura, passa a contar com esse serviço essencial. Isso só está sendo possível graças à união entre Governo Federal, Estado e municípios”, destacou Roberta Santana. Outro destaque é Feira de Santana, que recebeu quatro veículos.
O vice-presidente da República, Geraldo Alckmin, também destacou a relevância do investimento. “Maravilhoso, maravilhoso. Essa entrega reforça a importância da descentralização na Saúde Pública. Quando falamos de emergência, falamos da chamada ‘hora de ouro’: os primeiros 60 minutos que podem salvar vidas. Um atendimento rápido, com equipe preparada, faz toda a diferença. Reduz sequelas, salva vidas e transforma realidades. Quero parabenizar todos os prefeitos e prefeitas que têm compromisso com a saúde da população”, afirmou.
Desde 2023, a Bahia já recebeu 232 novas ambulâncias do Samu: 31 por ampliação de frota, 14 por expansão e 187 destinadas à renovação da frota. A produção desses veículos ocorre em Lauro de Freitas, na Região Metropolitana de Salvador, o que contribui para a geração de emprego e renda, além do fortalecimento da indústria baiana.
O ministro da Saúde, Alexandre Padilha, ressaltou o protagonismo feminino no fortalecimento do SUS. “Todos nós sabemos que as mulheres são a maioria entre os profissionais que fazem o SUS funcionar todos os dias. E também são as principais usuárias do Sistema. Elas estão sempre buscando os exames preventivos, cuidando da própria saúde e também da saúde de toda a família. Muitas vezes, são elas que acompanham o pai, o filho, o companheiro. Fortalecer o SUS é também reconhecer o protagonismo das mulheres na saúde do Brasil”, afirmou.
“Desde o início da nossa gestão e do presidente Lula, estamos priorizando a reestruturação da Rede de Urgência e Emergência. Já são 194 novas ambulâncias em pouco mais de dois anos, e vem mais por aí”, anunciou a secretária, reforçando o compromisso com a interiorização dos serviços de saúde.
Com a universalização do Samu, a população baiana ganha mais agilidade e qualidade no atendimento às urgências médicas, com integração às demais Redes de Saúde nos Territórios. O feito é considerado histórico por especialistas da área e marca um avanço na equidade do acesso aos Serviços Públicos de Saúde no Estado.
