O Brasil vive um momento de alerta no acompanhamento da Covid-19. Um boletim recente do Instituto Todos pela Saúde (ITpS) mostra que, até o dia 16 de agosto, houve oito semanas consecutivas de alta na confirmação de casos da doença. Nos últimos 28 dias, a taxa de positividade de testes saltou de 5 % para 13 %, indicando maior circulação do vírus no país.
A elevação foi observada em todas as faixas etárias, com impacto mais acentuado entre os adultos de 30 a 59 anos. Entre os estados, o Distrito Federal registrou a maior taxa na última semana, com 19%, seguido do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo, ambos com 18%.
Apesar do aumento dos casos, os demais vírus respiratórios ainda registram positividade igual ou inferior a 5 %, reforçando o protagonismo do SARS-CoV-2 nesta fase.
Avaliação de especialistas
O infectologista Julival Ribeiro explica que o coronavírus segue em circulação em todos os países e que não foi erradicado. “O vírus da Covid-19 continua em todos os países, não foi erradicado. Portanto, a gente continua vendo casos praticamente durante o ano inteiro”, afirma.
Ele ressalta que a chegada do inverno, período marcado por aglomerações, favorece a disseminação do vírus, assim como ocorre com a gripe. “Quanto maior a aglomeração, a tendência é disseminar mais o vírus. Então, o mais importante, segundo a própria Organização Mundial da Saúde, é para aquelas pessoas, sobretudo, que estão em grupo de risco, se vacinar, porque a vacina que existe hoje também cobre essas novas variantes que estão surgindo a nível mundial da Covid-19”, destacou.
Além da vacinação, Ribeiro recomenda medidas adicionais de prevenção. “Se tiver com síndrome gripal, evite sair. Se sair, use máscara, faça higienização das mãos e evite, sobretudo, contato se souber que alguém está com um assínio gripal”, orientou.
O especialista lembrou que o Brasil já dispõe de tratamento gratuito para casos graves. “Hoje, o Ministério da Saúde distribui o antiviral para quem pega Covid-19, segundo os critérios estabelecidos. Pessoas mais graves, internadas, se precisar, nós dispomos hoje, no Brasil, de maneira gratuita, esse antiviral para tratar a Covid-19”, explicou.

obre a nova variante XFG, detectada inicialmente no Sudeste Asiático e já identificada no Brasil em um paciente do Ceará, Ribeiro reforça que, até o momento, não representa uma ameaça maior. “Essa nova variante da Covid, segundo a própria OMS, é considerada como de baixo risco à saúde pública. É muito importante esse papel que os órgãos públicos estão fazendo, detectando pessoas com a Covid-19, fazendo os estudos mais sofisticados para saber se é uma nova variante ou se não é, e ver qual é o comportamento dela, o que é indicado pelo Ministério da Saúde e que é realizado pela Fiocruz, aqui no Brasil”, completou.
Prevenção e cuidados
Diante da escalada de casos, especialistas reforçam a importância de manter a vacinação em dia, especialmente para idosos, gestantes, imunossuprimidos e crianças pequenas. O uso de máscara em ambientes fechados ou em contato com grupos de risco continua sendo recomendado, além da testagem em caso de sintomas gripais.
