As doenças alérgicas são uma realidade para aproximadamente 35% da população mundial e tendem a se intensificar durante o inverno. Com a chegada da estação, aumentam os quadros de rinite, asma e bronquite, muitas vezes desencadeados ou agravados por alérgenos como poeira, mofo e ácaros, comuns em ambientes fechados e com pouca ventilação.
A Semana Mundial da Alergia, celebrada de 23 a 29 de junho, chama atenção para as doenças, que impactam diretamente a qualidade de vida de crianças, adultos e idosos. Em 2024, o alerta se soma a um dado preocupante: Minas Gerais já conta com dezenas de municípios em situação de emergência por conta do avanço das síndromes respiratórias.
Segundo o infectologista Liliana Rocha do Hospital Unihealth Três Vales, em Teófilo Otoni, no leste de Minas Gerais, a atenção deve ser redobrada nesta época do ano. “As doenças alérgicas respiratórias, como a rinite e a asma, pioram com o frio e com a maior exposição a ambientes fechados. A limpeza adequada da casa e dos objetos de uso pessoal, como roupas e cobertores, é fundamental”, alertou.
Como se proteger
Entre as medidas preventivas recomendadas estão:
- Manter os ambientes arejados, mesmo no frio;
- Evitar o uso de tapetes e o acúmulo de poeira em cobertores e casacos;
- Se você tem rinite ou asma, usar o soro fisiológico para lavar o nariz diariamente, especialmente no inverno;
- Não fumar e evitar exposição à fumaça;
- Reforçar a hidratação e manter uma alimentação equilibrada;
- Manter a vacinação em dia, especialmente contra a gripe e outras doenças respiratórias, que podem agravar quadros alérgicos.
O diagnóstico correto é o primeiro passo. Ele envolve uma avaliação detalhada da história clínica do paciente, testes de alergia e, em alguns casos, exames laboratoriais.
Já o tratamento combina controle ambiental, uso de medicamentos sob prescrição e, para casos mais persistentes, imunoterapia. “O mais importante é não se automedicar. O acompanhamento médico evita complicações e garante mais qualidade de vida, especialmente para quem já tem histórico familiar de alergia”, reforçou a médica.
