Brumado entrou para a história do esporte baiano ao garantir, na última quinta-feira (12), em Vitória da Conquista, o primeiro ouro em uma competição estadual de Beach Tennis. A vitória veio na Categoria Iniciante, com a dupla formada por Kátia Leite de Souza BezerraeRenata Gomes Camargo, que superou as adversárias conquistenses por dois sets a zero.
O título foi conquistado durante a Copa Sunset Reserva do Vale, realizada na Arena Beach Sunset Reserva do Vale e válida pela 8ª Etapa do Campeonato Baiano de Beach Tennis. O torneio, organizado pela Federação Bahiana de Tênis, reuniu atletas de diversos municípios do Estado e contou com oito duplas na Categoria Iniciante.
Com uma campanha impecável, marcada por superação, determinação e espírito esportivo, Kátia Leite e Renata Camargo venceram todas as cinco partidas disputadas: três na fase de grupos, além da semifinal e da grande final. A performance sólida e consistente garantiu não apenas o ouro, mas também o reconhecimento da dupla como um dos destaques da competição.
O sucesso das atletas contou com o apoio de empresas privadas locais – Beto Bike Sports, Comtrasil Comércio e Transportes e Xilolite – que têm incentivado o desenvolvimento do esporte na região. Animadas com o resultado, Kátia Leite e Renata Camargo já projetam novos desafios e estão confirmadas nas próximas etapas do Campeonato Baiano, previstas para Ilhéus, Feira de Santana e Porto Seguro, além de uma competição extra, fora do circuito estadual, que será realizada em abril, em Guanambi.
