Festa é realizada pela Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado

O romancista, dramaturgo e autor de telenovelas Dias Gomes (1922-1999) será o homenageado deste ano na Festa Literária Internacional do Pelourinho (Flipelô). A festa ocorrerá entre os dias 6 e 10 de agosto, no Pelourinho, em Salvador.
Nascido na capital baiana, Dias Gomes começou a escrever ainda na adolescência. Com apenas 15 anos redigiu sua primeira peça teatral, A Comédia dos Moralistas, que ganhou o 1º lugar no Concurso do Serviço Nacional de Teatro em 1939. Três anos depois estreou no teatro profissional com a comédia Pé-de-cabra.
Um de seus textos mais famosos é O Pagador de Promessas (1960), que foi adaptado ao cinema por Anselmo Duarte, em 1962, tornando-se o primeiro filme brasileiro a receber uma indicação ao Oscar e o único a ganhar a Palma de Ouro em Cannes. Ele também foi autor de vários sucessos na TV brasileira, escrevendo novelas como O bem-amado (1973), Saramandaia (1976) e Roque Santeiro (1985), que chegou a ser censurada pela ditadura militar.
Era casado com Janete Emmer (Janete Clair), autora de telenovelas, com quem teve cinco filhos.
Na Rádio Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, Dias Gomes participou da produção da radiodramaturgia Grande Teatro, programa lançado no dia 7 de maio de 1955. A produção ia ao ar nas noites de sábado e começou com peças adaptadas pelo dramaturgo Dias Gomes. Em 1964, foi demitido da Rádio Nacional, da qual era diretor-artístico, por força do Ato Institucional nº 1. Era casado com Janete Emmer (Janete Clair), autora de telenovelas.

Em toda a sua carreira, Dias Gomes escreveu 33 peças de teatro, oito livros, 14 telenovelas, cinco minisséries e dois seriados. Em 1991, ele passou a ocupar a cadeira 21 na Academia Brasileira de Letras (ABL).
“Dias Gomes é um grande escritor baiano. Amigo de Jorge Amado, era sempre recebido na Casa do Rio Vermelho. Trocavam cartas, que hoje integram o acervo da Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado. E tinham uma conexão quanto aos temas abordados em suas obras como a intolerância religiosa, a exploração política e comercial da fé popular, o coronelismo político e o progresso descontrolado, assim como no uso do estilo literário realismo mágico”, disse Angela Fraga, diretora-executiva da Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado, instituição cultural responsável pela realização da Flipelô.
A Flipelô é o maior evento cultural literário da Bahia. Inspirada na Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty (Flip), a Flipelô teve a sua primeira edição em 2017 e é realizada pela Fundação Casa de Jorge Amado. A festa surgiu com o objetivo de preservar e valorizar a memória do escritor Jorge Amado, a cultura e arte da Bahia e também estimular a literatura, principalmente entre os jovens.
