Em 2024, o Brasil registrou um crescimento preocupante nos afastamentos laborais por transtornos mentais, especialmente Ansiedade e Depressão. De acordo com dados do Ministério da Previdência Social, quase meio milhão de Licenças Médicas foram concedidas, representando um aumento de 68% em relação ao ano anterior. Esse cenário revela uma crescente crise de Saúde Mental, fortemente ligada às dinâmicas de exploração do trabalho no capitalismo contemporâneo.
A Medicina descreve a ansiedade como uma resposta natural e passageira do organismo diante de circunstâncias que geram preocupação ou medo, como falar em público, participar de uma entrevista de emprego ou realizar uma prova na Escola.
Porém, quando a Ansiedade se manifesta de forma intensa, sem uma causa evidente, e interfere nas atividades cotidianas, pode ser um indicativo de um Transtorno de Ansiedade, como o Transtorno de Ansiedade Generalizada, o Transtorno do Pânico ou alguma Fobia.
Atentas a essa questão, as estudantes Emília Vieira Araújo e Tainara Rocha de Oliveira, do Colégio de Tempo Integral Antônio Batista, em Candiba, desenvolveram um Óleo Corporal Calmante à base de Capim-Santo, também conhecido como Capim-Limão, Capim-Cidreira ou Capim-Cheiroso.
A iniciativa surgiu durante as aulas de Iniciação Científica, sob a orientação da Professora Mestre em Química Pura e Aplicada, Marciele de Oliveira Silva Rocha. Segundo a Professora, a Disciplina incentiva o aluno a desenvolver um Projeto e foi neste contexto que despertou o interesse das estudantes Emília Vieira Araújo e Tainara Rocha de Oliveira em realizar um trabalho voltado para a solução de um problema presente na sociedade e no dia a dia das pessoas. “Pesquisamos e identificamos que a Ansiedade era um problema atual, e muito perto dos estudantes. Também através da pesquisa surgiu a ideia de um Óleo Corporal que fosse de baixo custo e acessível”, pontua a Professora Marciele de Oliveira Silva Rocha, explicando que .a escolha pelo Capim-Santo ocorreu devido às suas propriedades Antioxidantes, Anti-Inflamatórias e Analgésicas, as quais auxiliam na promoção de uma sensação de tranquilidade, contribuindo para a redução de sintomas como agitação e batimentos acelerados.. Ainda segundo a Professora, a composição da fórmula é totalmente natural, contendo Extrato de Capim-Santo e Óleo de Coco.
O Projeto foi realizado com o suporte da Secretaria de Estado da Educação da Bahia e passou por testes com voluntários, que relataram diminuição dos sintomas de Ansiedade, melhorias na qualidade do sono e um aumento no bem-estar geral.
