Na tarde do sábado (24), o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues Souza (PT), acompanhado do secretário de Estado da Segurança Pública da Bahia, Marcelo Werner Derschum Filho, inaugurou oficialmente em Itapetinga, o Núcleo Especializado de Atendimento à Mulher (Neam), estrutura vinculada à 21ª Coorpin. O espaço, localizado no bairro Nova Itapetinga, está estruturado para oferecer um atendimento mais humanizado e eficiente às mulheres vítimas de violência.
Segundo o secretário de Estado de Segurança Pública, Marcelo Werner Derschum Filho, a Unidade foi criada para atender à demanda de um espaço especializado no acolhimento de vítimas de violência doméstica. O objetivo é garantir que os processos de investigação criminal e a emissão de Medidas Protetivas de Urgência ocorram com mais rapidez e segurança.
A cerimônia contou com a presença de Policiais Civis, autoridades locais, lideranças políticas locais, regionais e do Estado, representantes de organizações sociais e membros da sociedade civil, demonstrando o fortalecimento do compromisso do Governo na luta contra a violência de gênero.
O Neam (Núcleo Especializado de Atendimento à Mulher) tem como objetivo oferecer atendimento integral às mulheres, incluindo apoio psicológico, jurídico e social, além de atuar na prevenção e na conscientização sobre os direitos das mulheres. Segundo o governador, a inauguração do Núcleo em Itapetinga reforça a prioridade do Governo do Estado em garantir a segurança e o bem-estar das mulheres, promovendo um ambiente mais justo e igualitário.
Durante o evento, o governador destacou que a instituição do Núcleo é uma resposta concreta às demandas da sociedade por ações mais efetivas no combate à violência de gênero, ressaltando que o compromisso do Governo da Bahia é não apenas criar estruturas de atendimento, mas garantir que essas mulheres tenham acesso a suporte de qualidade, contribuindo para a redução dos casos de violência e promovendo uma cultura de respeito e dignidade.
Jerônimo Rodrigues destacou de forma enfática que a inauguração do Neam de Itapetinga, que dá continuidade ao trabalho realizado pelas Unidades da Macrorregião de Brumado e Vitória da Conquista, tem como objetivo fortalecer a Rede de Proteção à Mulher no Médio Sudoeste e no Sudoeste da Bahia. Segundo ele, trata-se de uma iniciativa de proteção e respeito, que busca assegurar que nenhum homem se sinta autorizado a agir impunemente contra uma mulher. Ele reforçou que as mulheres possuem autonomia e direito de escolha, e que o Estado tem a responsabilidade de oferecer apoio e reafirmar seu compromisso com a segurança e o acolhimento. O governador também afirmou que a ideia de que terceiros não devem interferir em questões entre homem e mulher está ultrapassada.
O governador concluiu ressaltando que entrega da Unidade representa um avanço significativo na política de proteção às vítimas de violência de gênero no Estado, reafirmando o compromisso do Governo em construir uma sociedade mais segura, igualitária e livre de violência.
