Com o tema: “Todos juntos contra a exploração do trabalho infantil” e o lema: “Trabalho Infantil nem de Brincadeira”, a ação contemplou as Escolas Municipais, o Povoado de Várzea Grande e toda a sede, através da distribuição de jornais informativos sobre o tema, palestras e entrevista na Rádio Atalaia FM com a presença do Enfermeiro Flávio Cardoso Araújo, Coordenador do Creas, que debateu os malefícios do trabalho infantil na saúde e na vida de crianças e adolescentes; da Psicóloga Fabrícia Prates Amorim, Coordenadora do Serviço Família Acolhedora, que explanou sobre os impactos psicológicos e educacionais causados pela exploração do trabalho infantil. Articuladora do Peti [Programa de Erradicação do Trabalho Infantil] Cynara Damaceno que encerrou o encontro enfatizando a importância de todos estarem juntos contra a exploração do trabalho de crianças e adolescentes.
A culminância aconteceu no dia 9 de junho, com uma apresentação teatral lúdica itinerante por todos os bairros da cidade, ressaltando a problemática da exploração do trabalho infantil. “As ações estratégicas irão continuar, pois a sensibilização é um processo construído lentamente, mas traz frutos muito positivos em combate à violação dos direitos das nossas crianças e adolescentes”, destacou a secretária municipal de Assistência Social Sônia Regina Fernandes Pessoa.
