Até 1,8 milhão de baianos podem deixar de pagar conta de luz a partir de julho com a ampliação da isenção no consumo de até 80 kWh por mês, anunciada pelo Governo do Estado. O novo benefício da Tarifa Social prevê a gratuidade para famílias inscritas no CadÚnico com renda mensal de até meio salário-mínimo por pessoa. A proposta também contempla pessoas com deficiência ou idosos que recebem o Benefício de Prestação Continuada (BPC), além de indígenas e quilombolas do CadÚnico.
Caso o consumo ultrapasse o teto de 80 kWh, será necessário pagar a diferença. Por exemplo, se a conta chegar a 100 kWh, paga-se 20 kWh no mês. Antes, os descontos eram aplicados de forma progressiva em faixas diferentes, variando de 10% a 65%, com regras específicas para quilombolas e indígenas.
Com a isenção, o Governo do Estado abre mão de uma receita de R$ 26 milhões para beneficiar diretamente grande parcela da população. A iniciativa segue a mesma linha adotada pelo Governo Federal, que editou em junho medida provisória que simplificou o desconto na Tarifa Social de Energia Elétrica e passou a garantir 100% de isenção para o consumo até 80 kWh mensais.
“O Governo da Bahia e o Governo Federal atuam em total sintonia e de forma conjunta, buscando dar melhores condições de vida para a população. Por isso, assim que foi editada a MP optamos por estender a faixa de isenção de ICMS nas contas de luz, iniciativa que representa um alívio no orçamento de milhões de baianos”, destaca o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues.
Os recursos para custear os descontos são provenientes da Conta de Desenvolvimento Energético (CDE). Segundo a Secretaria da Fazenda do Estado (Sefaz-BA), a isenção do ICMS será concedida via convênio e a Coelba já foi informada da alteração após consulta feita à Sefaz-BA. “Seguindo determinação do governador Jerônimo Rodrigues, sempre atento às políticas públicas elaboradas pelo Governo Lula, a equipe da Fazenda Estadual já tomou todas as providências necessárias para que a isenção entre em vigor neste mês julho”, disse o secretário Manoel Vitório.
