Em visita guiada ao canteiro de obras da Barragem do Rio Catolé, nesta última sexta-feira (14), com dirigentes e técnicos da Embasa e a participação da imprensa, os deputados Waldenor Pereira (federal) e Zé Raimundo (estadual) tiveram a oportunidade de constatar “in loco” o bom andamento da construção deste tão sonhado projeto para abastecimento de água de Vitória da Conquista e de outros municípios da região.
Os visitantes foram informados, no canteiro, pelo gerente de obras da Embasa, Jackson Rangel, e por diretores do consórcio vencedor da licitação, Thiago e Marcelo, que a obra já alcançou 30% de execução e se desenvolve regularmente sem nenhuma intercorrência, com previsão de conclusão prevista para fevereiro de 2027.

O deputado Waldenor Pereira, que vem acompanhando sistematicamente junto à direção da Embasa esse pleito defendido por ele e Zé Raimundo, mostrou-se satisfeito com o que viu pessoalmente no canteiro de obras e destacou com orgulho:“Trata-se do maior investimento público no interior do estado da Bahia,neste momento,com orçamento inicial de 322 milhões de reais, é uma obra que sem dúvida vai dar segurança hídrica de mais de 30 anos para a cidade de Vitória da Conquista e demais municípios da região a serem contemplados. Nós agradecemos ao presidente Lula, ao governador Jerônimo e ao ministro Rui Costa, pela atenção à nossa cidade e região.”
O deputado Zé Raimundo também não escondeu o seu contentamento com o andamento do projeto em suas declarações para representantes da imprensa presentes e publicação em suas redes sociais. “Depois de tanta luta, estamos cada vez mais perto dessa conquista”, disse, após ressaltar que esta é a obra mais esperada nos últimos 15 anos por Vitória da Conquista. Ele também agradeceu ao governador Jerônimo Rodrigues por retomar o andamento das obras.
Os investimentos no valor de R$ 322 milhões para a construção são com recursos oriundos do PAC (Governo Federal), Embasa e Governo do Estado. As obras da Barragem do Rio Catolé já impactam a economia local, com a geração de cerca de 500 empregos constituídos de forma direta, e quase 1000 empregados de forma indireta, conforme os dados da direção do consórcio responsável pela execução do projeto.

O gerente de obras da Embasa, o engenheiro Jackson Rangel, explicou como, nesta etapa inicial, estão sendo realizadas ações essenciais de preparação e estruturação para garantir o avanço eficiente da obra. Ele também ressaltou que a Barragem do Rio Catolé trará muitos benefícios para a população local: “A gente está trazendo uma qualidade de vida maior para a cidade de Vitória da Conquista. Um empreendimento desse porte traz muitos benefícios, para a indústria, serviços, o comércio, para a geração de empregos e muitos outros para melhorar a qualidade de vida da população”, afirmou.
