Na última Sessão Ordinária, na segunda-feira (31 de março) Legislativo Municipal de Brumado aprovou, em primeira votação, por unanimidade, em primeira votação, o Projeto de Lei 010/2025, proposto pelo líder da oposição, vereador Carlos Magno – Maguinho – de Souza Novais (MDB), que institui o dia 21 de junho como “Dia Municipal de Religiões de Matizes Africanas, Tradições e Nações do Candomblé de Brumado”. A proposta visa reconhecer e celebrar a diversidade cultural e religiosa da cidade, promovendo respeito e valorização das tradições afro-brasileiras.
A iniciativa, ressalta o vereador emedebista Carlos Magno – Maguinho – de Souza Novais, surgiu a partir da necessidade de combater a intolerância religiosa e promover a inclusão, além de proporcionar um espaço para a troca de saberes e experiências entre as diferentes comunidades religiosas. O Projeto prevê a realização de atividades culturais, palestras, eventos e celebrações que destacam as contribuições das religiões de matriz africana para a formação da identidade brasileira.

Ao JS, o autor do Projeto destacou a importância de criar um ambiente de respeito e harmonia entre as diversas crenças. “Este dia é um reconhecimento das raízes africanas que fazem parte da nossa história. É um passo importante para a construção de uma sociedade mais justa e igualitária”, afirmou.
A aprovação do Projeto em primeiro turno, sinalizando que a votação será confirmada na Sessão Ordinária da Casa Legislativa prevista para o próximo dia 7, para então seguir para sanção do prefeito Fabrício Abrantes Pires de Souza Oliveira (Avante), foi recebida com entusiasmo por representantes de organizações religiosas e culturais, que ressaltaram a importância de um dia dedicado a celebrar a riqueza das tradições africanas. A expectativa é de que a data, a ser comemorada anualmente, contribua para a conscientização da população sobre a diversidade religiosa e a necessidade de respeito mútuo.
O Babalorixá Pai Dionata de Xangô, representando os Povos de Terreiro no município, e o Advogado, Professor Universitário, vereador do PT e Ogã do Ilé Àse Èfòn Yèyé Omi Titun de Vitória da Conquista, Alexandre – Xandó – Garcia Araújo, ressaltaram que a aprovação do Projeto reforça a dos Povos de Terreiro pela garantia de um direito que é constitucional. “Eu, enquanto representante do povo de matriz africana, estou aqui na luta para pleitear os direitos difuso e coletivo. Não conseguimos a aprovação hoje por definitivo, voltaremos na próxima semana para aprovação final. Vamos retornar a esta Casa para pleitear um direito constitucional”, enfatizou o Babalorixá Pai Dionata de Xangô.
Na ocasião, o vereador conquistense Alexandre – Xandó – Garcia Araújo (PT) enalteceu a organização do povo de santo de Brumado e os relevantes serviços prestados à comunidade, bem como apontou que a instituição do Dia Municipal das Religiões de Matrizes Africanas, Tradições e Nações do Candomblé de Brumado é uma questão de reverência e justiça. “Nada mais justo do que ter um dia municipal em reverência às religiões de matrizes africanas. É uma grande comunidade que resiste apesar de toda perseguição e criminalização ao longo dos tempos”, apontou.
Aprovada em segunda votação – o que parece estar claro vai acontecer – e a posterior sanção pelo prefeito, o Dia Municipal das Religiões de Matrizes Africanas, Tradições e Nações do Candomblé de Brumado se tornará uma data oficial no calendário municipal, promovendo eventos que incentivem a troca cultural e a valorização das tradições afro-brasileiras em toda a cidade.
