Desde janeiro deste ano, os agricultores familiares de Caturama que atuam na produção de leite passaram a contar com uma Unidade de Beneficiamento de Leite e Derivados. Localizada no Distrito de Fazenda Jacar, essa Unidade, que opera sob a marca Laticínio Vale do Rio, tem capacidade para processar cinco mil litros de leite diariamente. A iniciativa foi realizada pelo Governo do Estado, através da Companhia de Desenvolvimento e Ação Regional (CAR), uma empresa pública vinculada à Secretaria de Estado do Desenvolvimento Rural da Bahia
Gildásio Batista, presidente da Associação Beneficente Fraternidade Comunitária da Comunidade de Marota e Adjacências, ressaltou a importância do laticínio para as famílias produtoras da região. Segundo apontou, a Unidade, além de possibilitar que com que os agricultores familiares associados tenham um local para entregar sua produção, viabilizou o processamento de cinco mil litros de leite a cada dois ou três dias, com produtos que são consumidos em Caturama e municípios da microrregião, como Paramirim, Tanque Novo e Livramento de Nossa Senhora.
Jeandro Laytynher Ribeiro, Diretor-presidente da Companhia de Desenvolvimento e Ação Regional (CAR), destacou que essa instalação da Unidade de Beneficiamento de Leite e Derivados no Distrito de Fazenda Jacar, beneficia não apenas os agricultores de Caturama, mas também os do Território Bacia do Paramirim. “Esses investimentos envolvem a agroindústria, com todos os equipamentos necessários, incluindo um caminhão para o transporte do leite. Essas melhorias estão transformando a vida das famílias, pois atendem suas necessidades diretas, possibilitando a captação do leite para processamento em produtos como iogurtes, manteiga e leite, o que gera maior renda”, enfatizou.
Com a modernização da pasteurização do leite, os novos equipamentos viabilizam a comercialização da produção de 35 famílias da Associação Beneficente Fraternidade Comunitária da Comunidade de Marota e Adjacências. Além disso, os produtos também serão encaminhados para o Programa Fome Zero, uma parceria entre o Governo do Estado e o Governo Federal.

O Laticínio Vale do Rio oferece uma variedade de produtos, como leite barriga mole, queijo mussarela, manteiga e iogurtes de diferentes sabores. Todos os produtos já possuem certificação do Serviço de Inspeção Municipal (SIM) e o Selo de Identificação de Produtos da Agricultura Familiar, o que, para o presidente da Associação Beneficente Fraternidade Comunitária da Comunidade de Marota e Adjacências, Gildásio Batista, vai agregar valor à produção de leite, impulsionar geração de renda dos produtores associados, fomentar a economia local e fortalecer a agricultura familiar. “Agora, temos a capacidade de produzir até cinco mil litros por dia e sabemos que há mercados para distribuir nosso leite.”
Arlete Rosa, da Fazenda Pedrinhas, na zona rural de Caturama, consumidora dos produtos do Laticínio, especialmente do queijo e iogurte, elogiou a qualidade dos produtos: “Os produtos do Laticínio Vale do Rio são de excelente qualidade e, na minha opinião, agradam a todos. Não tenho do que reclamar!”, apontou.
