Leitura é condição sine que non para que possamos aprender, adquirir cultura, para que saibamos falar e escrever, para que tenhamos uma vida mais digna e plena. Porque sem saber ler, não podemos estudar e se não estudarmos, como termos uma profissão, um trabalho que nos possibilite uma vida decente? Nos, brasileiros, ainda lemos pouco,
infelizmente. Por uma série de razões das quais já falei em outros textos. Mas existem professores do primeiro grau que, apesar do conteúdo programático cada vez mais apertado do nosso ensino fundamental e também médio, imposto pela educação oficial, fazem um trabalho fenomenal, conseguindo incutir o gosto pela leitura em seus alunos. Então, além de ser de primordial importância que as crianças convivam com livros desde a mais tenra infância, o fato de o estudante ter um professor ou professora que se preocupa com o hábito de ler de seus alunos completa um cenário que é ideal para termos jovens e adultos que gostem de ler. E que gostem de estudar, portanto, que gostem de adquirir conhecimento.
Para além do salutar e indispensável hábito de ler, precisamos levar em conta que ler pode e deve nos dar prazer, pois além de nos preparar para a vida, a leitura pode nos fazer mais felizes, já que nos abre as portas, também, para a magia e para o encantamento. Leitura pode nos trazer felicidade? Pode. E de diversas maneiras. Algumas das quais já falamos acima. Uma história bem engendrada que culmina com um bom final e nos faz refletir sobre nossa realidade, nossa e do próximo. é outra maneira. Pois uma história criativa, original, instigante, nos mostrando personagens e cenários fantásticos maravilhosos, gênero tão explorado por autores vários, nos últimos tempos, por exemplo, cativa a muitos leitores, leitores de todas as idades.
Poemas que leem a vida e o mundo de maneira diferente, nos ensinando a ver tudo por novos ângulos, com sentimentos e emoções novos, construídos com palavras fortes e com novos significados, também são outras maneiras de nos proporcionar uma boa leitura, uma boa interpretação ou recriação da vida acontecendo ao nosso redor. E além dela. Então leitura é importante, é indispensável, sempre foi e continuará sendo. Precisamos ler mais, precisamos ler sempre, precisamos ler muito. Porque o futuro será sempre consequência de nossas leituras. Se nós não gostarmos de ler, perderemos o caminho para o futuro, pois só conseguiremos chegar a um futuro melhor através do hábito da leitura. Através dos conhecimentos adquiridos nos livros.
Então, leitores em formação, leiam hoje, leiam amanhã, leiam muito, cada vez mais. O futuro está nas mãos dos leitores, dos amantes da leitura, daqueles que têm o hábito de ler. Porque leitura e insubstituível. Se no passado líamos só os clássicos, hoje, ou de algum tempo para cá, temos uma gama imensa de contemporâneos da melhor qualidade. Brasileiros ou não, temos muitos autores excelentes para lermos. Então, vamos à leitura. Hoje e sempre.
