A Bahia receberá um reforço na atenção primária à saúde com a ampliação do programa Mais Médicos. A partir de abril, o estado contará com mais sete profissionais formados no exterior, que estão concluindo o Módulo de Acolhimento e Avaliação (MAAv). Esses médicos serão distribuídos em cinco municípios, reforçando o atendimento de populações em áreas de maior vulnerabilidade.
Atualmente, a Bahia tem 2.446 vagas ativas no Mais Médicos, sendo 2.143 delas ocupadas e 15 em processo de ocupação. Os profissionais atuam em 388 municípios do estado e alcançam cerca de 5,3 milhões de habitantes.
Um dos indicadores do foco nas regiões onde há maior necessidade de atendimento é que 907 dos médicos na Bahia estão fixados em municípios considerados de alta vulnerabilidade e outros 426 estão em regiões de muita alta vulnerabilidade.
NOVO EDITAL – O estado também foi contemplado no primeiro edital de 2025 do Mais Médicos, anunciado em março pelo Ministério da Saúde. O edital prevê a contratação de 2.279 profissionais em todo o país, sendo 218 destinados à Bahia. Esses profissionais atuarão em equipes de Saúde da Família, garantindo atendimento de qualidade e encaminhamento adequado para especialistas quando necessário.
Gestores municipais interessados em aderir ao programa devem se inscrever por meio do sistema e-Gestor até 24 de março. O resultado do edital está previsto para 8 de abril. Na Bahia, 147 municípios receberão contratações imediatas e 250 entrarão em cadastro reserva.
Em todo o país, o número de profissionais do Mais Médicos atendendo à população dobrou. Atualmente são 26 mil em atividade, enquanto em 2022 esse número era de 13,1 mil. Mais de 66 milhões de pessoas são beneficiadas pela iniciativa.

PRONTUÁRIO ELETRÔNICO – Uma importante ferramenta que vai contribuir para a eficiência no atendimento é o e-SUS APS, o prontuário eletrônico do SUS. Gratuito, ele permite a integração das informações dos pacientes entre atenção primária e atenção especializada. Isso possibilita que os profissionais acompanhem o histórico de consultas, exames e tratamentos de forma rápida e eficiente, reduzindo o tempo de espera e garantindo um atendimento mais completo.
ACOLHIMENTO – O Módulo de Acolhimento e Avaliação (MAAv) segue até 11 de abril, capacitando 402 médicos formados no exterior para atuação no SUS. A maioria dos profissionais nasceu no Brasil: são 397 brasileiros e cinco estrangeiros. Entre os médicos deste módulo, 52,7% são mulheres e 57 vão atuar na saúde indígena.
Este MAAv, o primeiro de 2025, em parceria com o Ministério da Educação (MEC), terá aulas sobre o SUS e temas prioritários para atendimento de populações vulneráveis na atenção primária, como equidade étnico-racial, saúde mental e o Bolsa Família. Ao fim do curso, todos os médicos participam de uma avaliação. Para ser aprovado, é preciso alcançar média mínima de 50%.
