Focado em democratizar o acesso à internet no Brasil, o Ministério das Comunicações reforçou, nesta segunda-feira (24), em evento realizado na Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), estado que sediará a COP 30, a criação de um Plano Nacional de Inclusão Digital (PNID) nos próximos meses.
O secretário de Telecomunicações, Hermano Tercius, participou dos diálogos sobre “O papel social das instituições para a inclusão digital”. O objetivo foi promover uma reflexão sobre a exclusão digital não como um problema isolado, mas como um reflexo de desigualdades sociais mais amplas.
Tercius falou sobre a formação de um grupo de trabalho que atuará na elaboração de um diagnóstico das áreas sem acesso à internet no Brasil. “Que seja um período intenso de trabalho”, afirmou o secretário sobre a missão dos técnicos.
A conectividade significativa e universal é um dos principais eixos do PNID, que está sendo estruturado pelo Ministério das Comunicações. Ela consiste em garantir o acesso à internet sem barreiras, de forma segura, satisfatória e a custo acessível para todos os brasileiros.
Para o secretário de Telecomunicações, promover a inclusão digital significa intensificar os esforços para combater a exclusão digital e capacitar as pessoas para o uso da tecnologia, assegurando acesso universal e participação dos mais vulneráveis.
Durante o encontro, os participantes discutiram a exclusão digital e seus impactos sobre aqueles que não possuem as habilidades e o suporte necessários para operar no universo online. Essa barreira priva a população mais vulnerável de recursos essenciais para seu desenvolvimento e de oportunidades de emprego.
Sobre o evento
Com o objetivo de apoiar países em desenvolvimento na inclusão digital, o British Council realizou o Diálogo de Políticas Públicas, com foco na inclusão digital. O evento foi uma oportunidade para reunir gestores de políticas públicas, pesquisadores, líderes comunitários e representantes de ONGs, atores fundamentais no ecossistema da inclusão digital.
A iniciativa está alinhada aos objetivos mais amplos do Programa SIDP-Impulsoria Brasil e do Programa de Acesso Digital Reino Unido-Brasil, criando uma plataforma para discutir desafios, compartilhar boas práticas e apresentar projetos bem-sucedidos.
O encontro contribuirá para a construção de uma visão compartilhada de conectividade significativa, promovendo conexões entre instituições e especialistas que atuam nessa área.
