Deflagrada na manhã desta quinta-feira (05), coordenada pela 10ª Coordenadoria Regional de Polícia Civil do Interior e pela Delegacia Territorial de Poções, em parceria com a Polícia Rodoviária Federal, o Grupo de Atuação Especial de Combate às Organizações Criminosas e Investigações Criminais (Gaeco), vinculado ao Ministério Público do Estado da Bahia, e a Promotoria de Justiça de Poções, com o objetivo desarticular grupos criminosos envolvidos em roubos e furtos de cargas na região Sudoeste do Estado, resultou, até o início da tarde, no cumprimento de 18 Mandados de Prisão — sete em Boa Nova, seis em Manoel Vitorino e cinco em Poções.
Durante a Operação também foram apreendidas de seis armas de fogo, dois simulacros de armas (um fuzil e uma pistola), sete veículos supostamente utilizados nos crimes e mercadorias avaliadas em aproximadamente R$ 100 mil. Entre os itens apreendidos estão 36 Placas Solares (Placas Fotovoltaicas), defensivos agrícolas, tecidos, gêneros alimentícios, ferramentas, calçados (tênis) e produtos eletrônicos.
Os dezoito suspeitos presos durante a Operação Piratas do Asfalto, na manhã desta quinta-feira (05), são investigados por participação direta em crimes de furto, roubo e receptação de cargas.
De acordo com o Delegado Titular da Diretoria Regional de Polícia Civil do Interior – Sudoeste/Sul (Dirpin – Sudoeste/Sul), Antônio Roberto Gomes Silva Júnior, a Operação Piratas do Asfalto representa uma resposta eficaz ao crime organizado. Ainda de acordo com o Delegado, a Operação, que contou com a participação ativa de mais de 200 Policiais Civis e Rodoviários Federais, além de Promotores de Justiça, foi conduzida com alta precisão técnica, resultando no desmantelamento e enfraquecimento significativo da organização criminosa. “As investigações seguem em andamento para que possamos localizar outros envolvidos e responsabilizá-los judicialmente”, apontou o Delegado Titular da Dirpin Sudoeste/Sul.
