A Prefeitura Municipal de Belo Campo, por meio da Secretaria de Agricultura, Meio Ambiente e Expansão Econômica, em parceria com a Secretaria Municipal de Educação, deu início ao Projeto “Horta na Escola” com a distribuição de sementes nas Instituições de Ensino da rede pública municipal de Educação.
A ação, realizada no último dia 2, marca o começo de uma iniciativa voltada à promoção de hábitos alimentares saudáveis e à valorização da Educação Ambiental entre crianças e adolescentes. O Projeto tem como pilares o incentivo ao consumo de hortaliças, o desenvolvimento de valores como cooperação, responsabilidade e cuidado com o meio ambiente, além da conscientização sobre alimentação e sustentabilidade.
A proposta da Administração Municipal, busca integrar práticas agrícolas ao cotidiano escolar, estimulando o uso consciente dos recursos naturais e contribuindo diretamente para a segurança alimentar da comunidade. A expectativa é que as hortas escolares se tornem espaços de aprendizado prático, produção de alimentos frescos e fortalecimento dos vínculos entre estudantes, professores e familiares.
A iniciativa reforça o compromisso da Administração Municipal com políticas públicas voltadas à Saúde, Educação e Meio Ambiente, promovendo uma formação cidadã desde os primeiros anos de escolaridade.
O prefeito Fidélis – Neto Fidélis – Pereira Reis (PSD) destacou a relevância da iniciativa para o desenvolvimento integral dos alunos da rede pública municipal de Ensino. Segundo ele, o Projeto representa mais do que uma ação pedagógica, é uma ferramenta de transformação social, ambiental e alimentar.
Para o prefeito, o cultivo das Hortas nas Escolas é uma forma de ensinar na prática valores como responsabilidade, cooperação e respeito à natureza. Pontuou ainda que a ação contribui diretamente para a segurança alimentar dos os estudantes belo-campenses, oferecendo alimentos frescos e saudáveis.
O prefeito também enfatizou o papel da parceria entre as Secretarias de Agricultura e Educação na implementação do Projeto, que tem como objetivo estimular hábitos saudáveis, promover Educação Ambiental e fortalecer os vínculos entre Escola e comunidade.
