A safra brasileira de cereais, leguminosas e oleaginosas deve alcançar 261,9 milhões de toneladas em 2022, de acordo com a estimativa de setembro do Levantamento Sistemático da Produção Agrícola, divulgado hoje (6), no Rio de Janeiro, pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE).
Para o IBGE, o resultado é um novo recorde na série histórica, iniciada em 1975, e representa aumento de 3,4% ou 8,7 milhões de toneladas em relação a 2021.
Segundo o gerente de agricultura do IBGE, Carlos Alfredo Guedes, o principal produto que está puxando o resultado recorde é o milho, principalmente o milho 2ª safra, com um crescimento de 35,5% frente ao ano anterior.
“A produção está se recuperando de problemas climáticos em 2021, como a falta de chuvas. Essa recuperação ajuda a explicar a produção em 2022. Além disso, também houve crescimento de área do milho 2ª safra, incentivado pelos bons preços que os produtores têm conseguido nos últimos anos”, disse Guedes, em nota.
A estimativa para a safra foi de crescimento em quatro grandes regiões: Centro-Oeste (11,4%), Norte (11%), Sudeste (10,8%) e Nordeste (10,3%). No Sul, a previsão é de queda de 14,6%.
O pesquisador avaliou como as condições climáticas exerceram impacto nos resultados divulgados. “A falta de chuvas, causada pelo fenômeno La Niña, impactou mais a região Sul e o Mato Grosso do Sul. Já Goiás e Mato Grosso não foram afetados por problemas climáticos. Com isso, temos a região Centro-Oeste, que é bastante representativa na produção de grãos, com um crescimento de 11,4%”, argumentou.
Trigo
A estimativa da produção de trigo foi de 9,6 milhões de toneladas, declínio de 0,9% em relação a agosto e aumento de 23% em relação a 2021. Segundo o gerente de agricultura, o trigo é um produto cuja produção não é autossuficiente.
“Consumimos em torno de 12 ou 13 milhões de toneladas, portanto, ainda teremos que importá-lo, mas bem menos do que em anos anteriores. Essa produção de 9,6 milhões de toneladas é um recorde para o Brasil. Ucrânia e Rússia são dois grandes exportadores de trigo e, com a guerra, os preços estão elevados. Os produtores, de olho nessa melhora dos preços, aumentaram as áreas aqui no país”, acrescentou.
Café
Conforme o levantamento, a estimativa da produção brasileira de café para 2022, considerando-se as duas espécies – arábica e canéfora – foi de 3,1 milhões de toneladas, ou 52,3 milhões de sacas de 60 quilos, queda de 2,7% em relação a agosto e aumento de 6,6% em relação a 2021.
“A produção do café arábica deveria ter crescido mais neste ano em decorrência da bienalidade positiva da safra. Isso não aconteceu, pois ano passado tivemos um inverno muito frio, inclusive com ocorrência de geadas nas regiões mais frias de cultivo desse produto. Isso fez com que o potencial de produção da safra de 2022 fosse reduzido”, afirmou o gerente da pesquisa, Carlos Barradas.
Soja
Principal commodity do país, a produção de soja manteve-se em 119,5 milhões de toneladas, estimativa que representa aumento mensal de 0,6%, entretanto, retração de 11,4% em comparação à obtida no ano anterior, com queda de 15,6% no rendimento médio. “Embora a área colhida tenha crescido 4,9%, problemas climáticos derrubaram a produção de soja em 2022”, disse Barradas.
Regiões
Entre as grandes regiões, o volume da produção de cereais, leguminosas e oleaginosas teve a seguinte distribuição: Centro-Oeste, 129,8 milhões de toneladas (49,6%); Sul, 65,1 milhões de toneladas (24,8%); Sudeste, 27,6 milhões de toneladas (10,6%); Nordeste, 25,4 milhões de toneladas (9,7%) e Norte, 14 milhões de toneladas (5,3%).
