Brumado avançou em direção à ampliação de sua Infraestrutura de Saneamento Básico. O Instituto do Meio Ambiente e Recursos Hídricos (Inema), autarquia vinculada à Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente da Bahia, publicou na segunda-feira (13) a concessão da Licença Prévia (LP) para a implantação do Sistema de Esgotamento Sanitário (SES) do município.
A autorização, formalizada pela Portaria nº 34.606 e com validade de cinco anos, foi concedida à Empresa Baiana de Águas e Saneamento (Embasa), vinculada à Secretaria de Estado de Infraestrutura Hídrica e Saneamento da Bahia, e publicada no Diário Oficial do Estado.
O Projeto prevê a construção de uma estrutura moderna, composta por oito Bacias de Contenção, Estações Elevatórias e uma Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto (ETE). A iniciativa inclui ainda mais de 242 quilômetros de rede coletora, que deve ampliar de forma expressiva a cobertura do serviço em diversos Bairros da cidade.
Segundo o planejamento técnico, o Sistema foi dimensionado para atingir uma vazão média de 112,47 litros por segundo ao final da implantação – um avanço significativo na capacidade de tratamento de esgoto do município. Além dos ganhos ambientais e sanitários, a obra também deve impulsionar a economia local, com expectativa de geração de cerca de 500 empregos diretos durante a execução.
Com a Licença Prévia emitida, o próximo passo será a publicação do Edital de Licitação para contratação das empresas responsáveis pelas obras. A previsão é que as intervenções sejam iniciadas ainda em 2026, marcando uma nova fase no desenvolvimento urbano e ambiental de Brumado.
O prefeito Fabrício Abrantes Pires de Souza Oliveira (Avante) comemorou a autorização concedida pelo Inema, ressaltando que a iniciativa abre caminho para novos investimentos e reforça o compromisso da Administração Municipal com o desenvolvimento sustentável e o cumprimento das normas ambientais.
Fabricio Abrantes também destacou a importância do Pprojeto. Segundo ele, os recursos para a obra já estão assegurados pela Embasa por meio do Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC). O prefeito afirmou ainda que a implantação do Sistema de Esgotamento Sanitário terá impacto direto na qualidade de vida da população, contribuindo para melhorias expressivas na Saúde Pública e na sustentabilidade do município.
