Administração do suplemento não apresenta riscos de eventos adversos

Uma abordagem estatística desenvolvida por pesquisadores da Queen Mary University of London, da Inglaterra, que combina resultados de estudos relevantes para vitamina D demonstrou que a suplementação desta vitamina apresenta segurança e proteção contra infecção aguda do trato respiratório, doença comum nos meses mais frios do ano. O estudo1 foi publicado no periódico The British Medical Journal, uma das revistas científicas mais relevantes do mundo.
A pesquisa, que contou com 11.321 pacientes, de 0 a 95 anos, constatou que pacientes com maior carência de vitamina D e aqueles que não receberam doses em bolus — modo de administração do suplemento para aumentar rapidamente a concentração da vitamina no organismo — foram os mais beneficiados. Os efeitos protetores foram observados naqueles que receberam vitamina D diariamente ou semanalmente. De acordo com o estudo, a dosagem em bolus pode fazer oscilar a concentração de vitamina D no corpo e, consequentemente, desregular as enzimas responsáveis pela síntese e degradação dos resíduos remanescentes da vitamina.
Segundo a Sociedade Brasileira de Pneumologia e Tisiologia (SBPT), as infecções respiratórias agudas são a terceira causa mundial de morte em adultos, sendo a pneumonia a grande representante. No Brasil, somente em 2021, foram mais de 400.000 hospitalizações por conta da doença.
“Os resultados desta pesquisa são muito valiosos para a definição de medidas de cuidado em saúde em momentos de maior incidência dessas doenças. A vitamina D é conhecida por sua importante ação nos ossos e músculos. Mas, ela também pode proporcionar benefícios na imunidade por sua ação imunomoduladora, reduzindo os riscos e melhorando a evolução das infecções respiratórias. Sabe-se que no inverno há menos exposição à radiação solar e redução dos níveis de vitamina D e a suplementação diária ou semanal com cápsula ou comprimido pode ser uma importante aliada na reposição e manutenção da vitamina”, comenta o médico, ex-secretário de saúde Campinas SP e consultor de saúde.
As análises foram feitas em subgrupos, definidos de acordo com o status basal de vitamina D, regime de dosagem de vitamina D (diário ou semanal sem dosagem em bolus versus regime incluindo pelo menos uma dose em bolus), tamanho da dose, idade (≤1 ano, 1,1-15,9 anos, 16-65 anos, >65 anos), índice de massa corporal (< 25 v ≥25), e presença comparada com ausência de asma, doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica e vacinação prévia contra influenza.

Beim letzten, dem Jubiläumsbond, war die Genderwelt noch
