O Campus XX da Universidade do Estado da Bahia (Uneb), em Brumado, sediará entre os dias 08 e 10 de outubro próximos, a oitava edição do Seminário de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários, que terá como tema “Intersecções – debates entre Linguística, Literatura e outras áreas”, com objetivo de promover o debate e a divulgação da produção científica, acadêmica, técnica e cultural nas áreas de Literatura, Linguística e Educação, além de abrir espaço para a valorização da produção cultural e do talento literário da região.
Promovido pelo Colegiado do Curso de Letras Vernáculas do Departamento de Ciências Humanas e Tecnologias do Campus XX da Uneb/Brumado, o VIII Seminário de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários prestará uma homenagem especial ao soteropolitano radicado em Brumado Paulo Esdras Oliveira da Silva Júnior. Comunicólogo, professor, escritor e poeta, além de membro da Academia de Letras e Artes de Brumado (Alab), Paulo Esdras é reconhecido por sua sensibilidade e originalidade, sendo considerado uma das vozes mais significativas da literatura sertaneja baiana. Sua trajetória é marcada por prêmios de reconhecimento nacional e por obras que ressoam com a identidade nordestina, incluindo seu recente livro “De Versos Sentidos”, lançado em 2024. De acordo com os organizadores, a homenagem a Paulo Esdras não apenas reconhece sua trajetória literária, mas também serve como um incentivo à nova geração de escritores e à valorização da literatura regional.
A programação do VIII Seminário de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários incluirá, também, o tradicional Concurso Literário, que ocorre a cada dois anos. Nesta edição, serão oferecidas duas categorias: Conto e Poema, ambas com tema livre. O concurso é aberto a estudantes do Ensino Médio e Superior residentes em Brumado ou matriculados em Instituições de Ensino do município, e cada participante poderá inscrever-se em apenas uma categoria. Os textos devem ser enviados por e-mail à Comissão Organizadora (concursosell@hotmail.com) até o dia 25 de setembro, devendo conter título e pseudônimo, com limite de duas páginas.
O VIII Seminário de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários reafirma sua importância como uma plataforma de estímulo à expressão artística e ao fortalecimento da identidade cultural do sertão baiano.
