Os projetos fazem parte do Programa Águas Brasileiras, coordenado pelo Ministério do Desenvolvimento Regional

Quatro projetos de revitalização de bacias hidrográficas, selecionados em edital realizado em fevereiro deste ano, vão receber quase 6 milhões de reais em patrocínio. Os recursos estão sendo investidos pelas empresas Itaú-Unibanco, Bradesco, MRV e Engie. Os projetos fazem parte do Programa Águas Brasileiras, coordenado pelo Ministério do Desenvolvimento Regional, o MDR.
Os recursos se unem a outros 42 milhões de reais investidos, em 2020, no Projeto Juntos pelo Araguaia, que também integra o Programa Águas Brasileiras. A iniciativa teve apoio da Anglo American, da Rumo Logística e da Hyperpharma.
Segundo o ministro do Desenvolvimento Regional, Rogério Marinho, projetos de revitalização das bacias hidrográficas se traduzem em melhor qualidade de vida para a população.
“Investir na água é investir no Brasil, na saúde, no meio ambiente, na sustentabilidade. Essa semente que estamos plantando juntos vai frutificar e servir de exemplo para outras empresas, para o terceiro setor e para a sociedade brasileira. O que faremos é o que Brasil espera de nós: responsabilidade com o nosso presente e um legado para o nosso futuro”.
O Bradesco é uma das empresas que apoiam o Programa Águas Brasileiras. O banco vai investir dois milhões de reais em um projeto de revitalização no município de Barra do Garças, no Mato Grosso. Marcelo Pasquini, superintendente de Sustentabilidade Corporativa da instituição, destaca a importância da iniciativa do governo federal.
“É um impacto bastante grande tanto do ponto de vista social, como ambiental. Em nome do Bradesco, a gente agradece por essa aliança, que ela cresça e continue trazendo mais apoiadores para essa causa tão essencial”.
