Aluna do 4º semestre de Letras, Jessika de Oliveira, de 28 anos, tem muito o que contar e comemorar após ter um conto de sua autoria selecionado no Concurso Nacional de Novos Escritores. “Festa de Aniversário” foi selecionado em dezembro de 2019, na categoria “Prosa/Conto”, e será publicado em uma antologia de contos no mês de março deste ano.
Jessika se inscreveu no concurso por meio de uma plataforma on-line de concursos literários. Em janeiro de 2020, veio o resultado: entre 519 inscritos, o conto “Festa de Aniversário” foi escolhido para compor um livro com 150 contos denominado Coletânea de Contos Conte-me um Conto 2019. Ainda no mês de março, a jovem escritora receberá uma medalha, um certificado de participação e dez exemplares da antologia.
O conto premiado nasceu em uma oficina do projeto “Papo Lírico”, coordenado pelos professores Anísio Assis Filho e Valéria Lessa, ambos do Departamento de Ciências Humanas e Letras (DCHL). Natural do município de Baixa Grande, interior da Bahia, a jovem escritora já cursou Letras na Universidade Federal da Bahia (Ufba), mas não concluiu. “Me inspiro em escritoras negras como Conceição Evaristo, Djalma Ribeiro, Toni Morrison, entre outras”, exemplificou.
Trajetória na Literatura – Mulher, negra, casada, mãe e sempre apaixonada pela Literatura, Jessika colaborou e aprendeu muito em vários projetos da Uesb. Participou do Grupo de Estudos em Linguística – A influência das línguas africanas no Português brasileiro, foi voluntária no projeto Estação da Leitura (Estale), bolsista do projeto “É de letra! Conscientizar-se! Memória e música como argumento para ensinar e aprender sobre o Brasil e voluntária no Programa Institucional de Iniciação à Docência.
Escrever, ler e “viajar” nos livros sempre foi uma tarefa prazerosa para a escritora. “Sempre leio. A leitura me proporciona conhecer muitas realidades diferentes e isso me instiga a não parar. Comecei a escrever ainda na infância. Entretanto, nunca tive oportunidade de publicar nada. O mercado editorial é difícil para as mulheres e, sobretudo, para mulheres negras”, disse.
Foi na Uesb que ela conheceu o projeto de extensão “Papo Lírico” e se identificou com a proposta das atividades e com a oficina “Viver para contar e contar para viver”, coordenada pela professora Valéria Lessa. Na oficina, foram trabalhadas teorias de escritores para a construção de narrativas em prosa e cada participante criava um conto nos encontros semanais. Tanto alunos da comunidade quanto da universidade participaram.
Sobre o prêmio – O Concurso Nacional Novos Escritores tem o objetivo de descobrir novos escritores com obras inéditas para lançar no mercado da Literatura Brasileira, especialmente na categoria Conto. “Quando recebi o resultado, pensei: ‘tudo valeu a pena’. Consegui construir e compartilhar uma narrativa que terá visibilidade nacional. Tô muito feliz e me sinto privilegiada em poder representar minhas irmãs pretas”, comemora a discente.
