Na manhã desta quinta-feira (12), o Governo do Estado, durante a entrega oficial do Colégio Estadual em Tempo Integral de Brumado, realizou uma cerimônia especial para prestar homenagem a um dos maiores ícones da Música Popular Brasileira, o ituaçuense Antônio Carlos Moraes Pires (1947 – 2020), ou como ficou conhecido e se tornou um dos compositores e vocalistas mais versáteis do Brasil, Moraes Moreira, celebrando seu legado e contribuição cultural. O evento teve como destaque a oficialização do nome do renomado artista no Teatro do Colégio Estadual em Tempo Integral, é uma iniciativa que visa preservar sua memória e reconhecer sua importância para a cultura nacional.
A solenidade de inauguração do Teatro do Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral, presidida pelo governador Jerônimo Rodrigues Souza (PT) contou com a presença de autoridades, lideranças políticas, estudantes, familiares do homenageado e representantes da comunidade artística.
O artista homenageado é reconhecido por sua influência na música popular e suas composições que marcaram gerações e seu papel como um dos nomes mais respeitados do cenário artístico baiano e nacional. Sua obra permanece viva e inspira novas gerações de músicos e amantes da música.
A iniciativa de nomear o teatro em sua homenagem, proposta pelo então Diretor do Colégio Estadual Getúlio Vargas, posteriormente gestor da Unidade e atualmente Diretor do Núcleo Territorial de Educação do Sertão Produtivo (NTE-13 Caetité), Ramon Dutra Lobo, aprovado por unanimidade pelo Colegiado, reafirma o compromisso do Governo do Estado, em valorizar a cultura nacional e promover a memória de grandes nomes que contribuíram de maneira significativa para a identidade cultural da Bahia e do Brasil. A expectativa é que o espaço, que já funciona para os alunos da Unidade Escolar desde o início do ano letivo de 2024, se torne um centro de referência para a promoção de atividades culturais e educacionais, incentivando o envolvimento da juventude com a música e as artes.
Este reconhecimento, apontou o Assessor Especial do Gabinete da Secretaria de Estado da Educação da Bahia, Manoel Vicente da Silva Calazans, que representou a titular da pasta na solenidade, reforça a importância de celebrar os artistas baianos e suas contribuições, preservando suas histórias e inspirando futuras gerações a valorizar e promover a rica diversidade da música brasileira.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
