Para reduzir o risco de entrada e disseminação da influenza aviária de alta patogenicidade na avicultura comercial do Brasil, o Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária (MAPA) estabeleceu novas medidas preventivas.
Essa atenção é destacada devido à ameaça iminente de reingresso da doença no território nacional, em função de novos focos de gripe aviária na América do Sul.
As medidas constam na Portaria nº 782, que suspende, em todo o país, a realização de exposições, torneios, feiras e outros eventos com aglomeração de aves. A ideia é prevenir a propagação da doença.
De acordo com orientações da Secretaria de Defesa Agropecuária, a ação tem como objetivo proteger a sanidade avícola, além de reduzir os efeitos que podem ser causados na cadeia produtiva do país.
O ministério pontua ainda, que, além disso, a criação de aves ao ar livre, com acesso a piquetes sem telas na parte superior, também está suspensa em estabelecimentos registrados.
A medida foi publicada no Diário Oficial da União do último dia 27 de março, com vigor imediato e duração de 180 dias, com possibilidade de prorrogação.
Entre 2022 e 2024, o Brasil havia registrado, pelo menos, 3.130 suspeitas de Síndrome Respiratória e Nervosa das Aves e 166 focos do vírus da Influenza Aviária.
Os municípios que mais apresentaram focos foram São João da Barra (RJ), Vila Velha (ES), São Sebastião (SP) e Santos (SP). Nas áreas de foco, foram identificadas 163 aves silvestres com a doença e 3 aves de subsistência.
De acordo com dados da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), mais de 880 casos de gripe aviária em humanos foram notificados mundialmente desde 2003, mas nenhum deles ocorreu no Brasil.
