Tradições contam a história e fortalecem a identidade brasileira

Das receitas de família às festas e cantigas populares, das danças típicas aos sotaques, das histórias contadas ao pé da fogueira e passadas de geração em geração: o folclore brasileiro está em todas as manifestações e expressões culturais, em todas as regiões do país. É folclore, por exemplo, a tradição das quadrilhas juninas no Nordeste, assim como sapecar pinhão no fogo, costume típico do Sul. Longe de se limitar às lendas e aos personagens que povoam o imaginário infantil, o folclore é um conjunto vivo dessas tradições, resultado do encontro de influências indígenas, africanas, europeias e de outros povos que moldaram a identidade nacional.
Compreender o folclore como um fenômeno cultural amplo é fundamental para preservar sua riqueza e significado sem simplificá-lo. “Quando falamos em folclore, há o senso comum de que se trata de uma cultura menos importante. Muitas pessoas pensam que folclore está presente apenas nas lendas que aprendemos quando crianças, mas ele faz parte da cultura e está presente nos modos de falar, nas receitas típicas, nos festejos regionais e até nas brincadeiras infantis”, afirma a editora de conteúdo da Aprende Brasil Educação Daniele Shorne de Souza. Entre essas brincadeiras estão o esconde-esconde, as rodas cantadas, o pega-pega, as cinco-marias e as cantigas para pular corda.
O folclore cumpre uma função social pois conecta gerações e fortalece vínculos comunitários. “O folclore é vivo e se adapta aos tempos, incorporando novas formas de expressão”, explica Daniele. Samba, frevo, festas juninas e bumba meu boi são exemplos dessa renovação constante, já que incorporam elementos da atualidade aos tradicionais.
Ao longo dos séculos, diferentes regiões do Brasil expressaram modos próprios de viver e se relacionar com a cultura através do folclore. Essas expressões nasceram das tradições trazidas por grupos de diferentes continentes e se constituiu sobretudo da resistência e da criatividade dos povos originários e das populações africanas escravizadas, que marcaram a formação social e cultural do país.
O papel educacional do folclore
O folclore pode ser usado para educar e conscientizar, pois permite tratar de temas como a preservação do meio ambiente, a diversidade cultural e o respeito às tradições locais. Por isso, é importante fortalecer espaços onde ele é praticado e valorizado. Além dos Centros de Tradições Nordestinas (CTN) e dos Centros de Tradições Gaúchas (CTG), há outros exemplos, como os maracatus em Pernambuco, as rodas de capoeira na Bahia, as festas do boi-bumbá na região Norte e as congadas em Minas Gerais e Goiás. Esses espaços e manifestações reforçam o senso de comunidade e mantêm vivas as práticas culturais transmitidas ao longo do tempo.
A valorização do folclore brasileiro vai além do registro e estudo, também passa pelo incentivo à sua vivência no cotidiano. Promover espaços em que diferentes expressões culturais possam conviver é uma maneira de garantir que essas manifestações continuem a existir. “Cada história, cantiga, dança ou encenação transmite saberes que atravessam gerações.
