O Conselho Superior de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão (Consepe) da Uesb aprovou a autorização para a criação do Curso Superior de Tecnologia em Gestão Pública, na modalidade Educação a Distância (EaD). A formação será vinculada ao Departamento de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas e ao Centro de Educação Aberta e a Distância (Cead) e ofertada em sistema especial, por meio do Programa Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB) da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Capes).
O curso será ofertado em Nível de Tecnólogo, uma modalidade de graduação superior com duração mais curta e foco prático. Os profissionais formados serão capazes de diagnosticar o cenário político, econômico, social e legal na gestão pública, além de planejar, implementar, supervisionar e avaliar projetos e programas de políticas públicas voltados ao desenvolvimento local e regional.
De acordo com o professor José Carlos Oliveira, Coordenador Geral do Cead, a proposta do curso é contribuir com o aperfeiçoamento da gestão pública a partir de uma formação técnica alinhada às necessidades sociais. Ele explica que o objetivo é preparar profissionais capazes de aplicar recursos com mais eficiência e desenvolver políticas públicas mais eficazes. “A oferta é pensada considerando que o desenvolvimento de uma nação justa e igualitária requer uma gestão pública capaz de alinhar os recursos disponíveis às prioridades”, destacou.
Para o professor Reginaldo Pereira, Pró-reitor de Graduação da Uesb, a criação do novo curso reforça o papel institucional da Instituição na democratização do Ensino Superior. Reginaldo enfatiza que a EaD atende pessoas que não têm acesso ao Ensino Presencial e alcança regiões do Estado com pouca oferta de cursos. “Ainda temos diversas localidades onde o acesso à Educação Superior é restrito”, pontuou.
A previsão é que o Edital de Seleção seja publicado em agosto deste ano, com oferta de 150 vagas distribuídas em seis Polos: Brumado, Ilhéus, Itapetinga, Jacaraci, Macaúbas e Ipiaú. O início das aulas está previsto para o primeiro semestre de 2026.
Sobre a EaD na Uesb – Desde 2006, a Uesb oferta cursos na modalidade a distância. Até 2024, já foram ofertadas cerca de 6.500 vagas distribuídas em cinco Licenciaturas e sete Especializações. Atualmente, o Cead mantém cinco cursos de Graduação (Pedagogia, Física, Matemática, Computação e Análise e Desenvolvimento de Sistemas) e oito cursos de Especialização (Educação do Campo, Ciência é 10!, Educação Especial e Inclusiva, Gestão Escolar, Gestão Pública Municipal, Gestão em Saúde, Gestão Educacional e Ensino de Matemática), com mais de 3.200 estudantes em formação.
Segundo José Carlos, a Universidade tem buscado melhorias constantes na estrutura da EaD, por meio de investimentos na ampliação de infraestrutura, conectividade e capacitações para professores e técnicos. “A Uesb busca melhorias nas estruturas físicas, tecnológicas e de conectividade, de modo a permitir a qualidade dos cursos já ofertados e das novas ofertas de cursos conveniados”, reforçou. Além disso, a Universidade vem promovendo oficinas e outras ações que fortalecem o ensino, a pesquisa e a extensão na modalidade.
