A Caixa Econômica Federal anunciou a reinstalação de sua Superintendência Regional em Vitória da Conquista, na Bahia, prevista para acontecer no dia 1º de agosto. A notícia foi confirmada pelo deputado federal Waldenor Alves Pereira Filho (PT/BA), principal responsável pela articulação para essa retomada, que recebeu a confirmação diretamente da Instituição Financeira e comemorou a conquista como um avanço importante para fortalecer a estrutura institucional na região Sudoeste do Estado.
A decisão atende a um pedido formal feito por Waldenor Pereira à presidência da Caixa Econômica Federal, durante reunião realizada em Brasília, em abril deste ano. Na ocasião, o parlamentar reforçou a reivindicação pelo retorno da Superintendência, que foi extinta em 2020, durante o Governo Jair Bolsonaro. Ele destacou que a instalação original, ocorrida em 2011, foi fruto de uma parceria entre seu mandato, o Governo da então presidente Dilma Rousseff (PT) e o então presidente da Caixa Econômica Federal, Jorge Hereda.
A Direção Geral da Caixa Econômica Federal reconheceu a relevância estratégica de Vitória da Conquista, a terceira maior cidade da Bahia, atualmente dependente da Superintendência de Feira de Santana, localizada a cerca de 400 km de distância. A confirmação da reinstalação e a definição da data foram feitas ao deputado Waldenor Pereira, reforçando a importância desse retorno para o município e a região.
Waldenor Pereira salientou que a reativação da Superintendência irá fortalecer Programas como o Minha Casa, Minha Vida – que já entregou mais de 15 mil unidades habitacionais na cidade – além de facilitar operações de crédito para investimentos em infraestrutura, convênios com Prefeituras e diversos financiamentos públicos. Ele também agradeceu o apoio do senador Jaques Wagner (PT/BA), da ministra de Estado das Relações Institucionais, Gleisi Hoffmann, e da ex-presidente da Caixa Econômica Federal, Maria Rita Serrano, pelo suporte à sua luta por esse avanço.
