O deputado federal Waldenor Pereira (PT-BA) esteve reunido na terça-feira (27), em Brasília, com o ministro do Desenvolvimento Agrário e Agricultura Familiar, Paulo Teixeira, deputado licenciado e parceiro político de longa data. O encontro reforçou a articulação de novas ações para fortalecer a agricultura familiar, setor que garante a maior parte dos alimentos que chegam à mesa dos brasileiros e desempenha papel estratégico no interior do estado, com destaque para o Sudoeste, Serra Geral, Chapada Diamantina e Vale do Paramirim, regiões onde Waldenor concentra sua atuação parlamentar.
Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos
Na conversa, Waldenor destacou a importância do Programa de Aquisição de Alimentos (PAA), considerado uma das políticas públicas mais exitosas do governo Lula por gerar renda para pequenos produtores, estimular a produção diversificada e destinar alimentos de qualidade a escolas, hospitais e entidades sociais.
Plano Brasil Soberano
O deputado e o ministro conversaram sobre os diversos programas do MDA e também sobre o anúncio de medidas do Plano Brasil Soberano, que autoriza a compra direta, sem licitação, de produtos afetados pelo tarifaço de até 50% imposto pelos Estados Unidos no governo Trump. A iniciativa do Governo Lula busca evitar perdas na produção e assegurar renda a agricultores familiares prejudicados. Os alimentos adquiridos serão destinados ao abastecimento de escolas públicas e à formação de estoques, ampliando a oferta de produtos frescos e saudáveis na merenda escolar.
Plano Safra da Agricultura Familiar
As medidas também se somam ao Plano Safra da Agricultura Familiar 2025/2026, lançado pelo presidente Lula, que prevê R$ 89 bilhões em crédito rural, compras públicas, seguro agrícola, assistência técnica e garantia de preços mínimos. O pacote histórico mantém a taxa de 3% para o financiamento da produção de alimentos da cesta básica — reduzida para 2% no caso do cultivo orgânico e agroecológico.
Para Waldenor Pereira, os anúncios e a parceria com o ministério consolidam avanços importantes:
“A agricultura familiar está em alta. Programas como o PAA e o fortalecimento das feiras agropecuárias dão segurança ao agricultor, ampliam a renda e garantem alimentos de qualidade ao nosso povo. Seguiremos juntos, trazendo conquistas para a Bahia e para o Brasil”, destacou o parlamentar.
